A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos)- 1.18.05

President and Laura Bush attended “Saluting Those Who Serve” today, honoring members of our Armed Forces at an event that helped kick off his second Inauguration, in which, contrary to media reports, he is celebrating the clear mandate he received from the American people on November 2nd. His father and mother, former President George H. W. Bush, and former First Lady, Barbara Bush also attended the event, where President Bush 41 recounted his World War II experiences.

President Bush is working on his Inaugural Address which concentrates on the themes of freedom abroad, and an ownership society at home.

Also today (all day), Condoleezza Rice appeared at her Senate confirmation hearing before the committee that will confirm her as Secretary of State. ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!

I agree sometimes when he is being thoughtful and listening to someone/something he gives the impression of being misable or grumpy but IMHO like you I think it is just his nature.

I may be wrong, but they look red, white and blue to me. You can see a little white on both of them.

I'm glad but not surprised Condi did well.

God Bless her. I just don't think I could be so ladylike and gracious while listening to those huge egos and idiots.

I'm glad I missed it.

I think it is just his nature.

It is. Some politicians are natural schmoozers, some aren't. Dick Cheney falls into the latter category.

The other stations were all covering Condi. She did a wonderful job; I could just smack some of those know-it-all smug people . . .

Nord, look at the rest of the pictures of the young ones. That is a red, white and blue admission band I think.

I'm not even sure why I stuck with it, lost the majority of the day because of it. Glad I did at the end.

Indescribable feeling when Condi won the encounters, walking away looked refreshed, energetic and certainly victorious after the attacks leveled against her throughout the day.

Really? Fergie is not popular in the UK? I honestly didn't know that and am surprised. But maybe my opinion of her is formed by the typical American's admiration for those who stand on their own two feet and succeed in this world.

Know-it-all SMUG egomaniacs . . .

They live for days like this. In their self-centered minds, they believe this stuff justifies their existence. Pfft.

We are doing ok. Hubby has gone out to Houston. He said if the weather is as cold here when he gets ready to come home, that he is going to stay out there. We have been cleaning out Jan's room. We have found about 5 garbage bags of clothes. Some of them even had the price tags still on them. We also found about $1,000-$1,500 worth of her ileostomy supplies. I called her ET nurse yesterday and we are going to donate them to them. They have a lot of patients who have trouble paying for supplies so they will use them for those patients. I know that Jan would like that. Oh! Something odd has happened. Jan had a picture of a castle that she had seen in Austria over her bed. Well, it has disappeared. I looked under the bed and behind the headboard area. No picture. Our other daughter said Jan did something with it. I can not wait to see where we find it.
