President and Laura Bush attended Saluting Those Who Serve today, honoring members of our Armed Forces at an event that helped kick off his second Inauguration, in which, contrary to media reports, he is celebrating the clear mandate he received from the American people on November 2nd. His father and mother, former President George H. W. Bush, and former First Lady, Barbara Bush also attended the event, where President Bush 41 recounted his World War II experiences.
President Bush is working on his Inaugural Address which concentrates on the themes of freedom abroad, and an ownership society at home.
Also today (all day), Condoleezza Rice appeared at her Senate confirmation hearing before the committee that will confirm her as Secretary of State. ENJOY your trip to Sanity Island, and the Daily Dose!!

**Cheney looks thrilled.
Yeah, he looks kind of solemn. I wonder if it was just the moment. As a former SecDef, I know he loves the troops.**
I think you are right he often does look like that around the military especially on special days/events.

Ahhhhh. Knew there would be delightful pictures tonight to soothe the soul after listening to some of the Condi Rice hearings today with offensive bloviating from Senators who are no doubt some of the lowest creatures on the face of the earth in terms of self delusions of grandeur. Osama Obama and Kerry and Boxer the ugly and Dodd.....puhleaze! AFter the hearing people wanted their picture taken with Condi Rice who graciously accomodated them. Looked like students and military young people. What a wonderful example she is to women, to African Americans, to scholars, to all Americans who would just embrace this fine Lady (with a capital L).

Hillary Duff looks very thrilled to meet the President -- and he looks delighted, himself.

I think you are right he often does look like that around the military especially on special days/events.We also don't know what was being said by the introducer, or played by the band at that moment. But the Vice President is also a naturally reserved, dignified personality.

Whew. I had to leave after that. Folks like that always make me mad. I do have a bad temper. :(

He's been pretty overt about his Republicanism, jonny. I really admire him for that.
It's a risky thing to do in 'open-minded' leftist Hollywood.

Knew there would be delightful pictures tonight to soothe the soul after listening to some of the Condi Rice hearings today...Folks who had the stomach to watch any of it have my considerable admiration. But now that inaugural activites are getting under way, I refuse to let the Dimbulbs spoil my mood.

Hi snugs
Fergi was here in San Diego today for some
weight watcher programs. At least she seems to
keep out of trouble in recent yrs.

Fergie seems to be a pretty decent human being. At least she's making her own way in the world instead of just sponging off taxpayers like too many members of the U.S. senate.
