During a visit to the IDF Gaza Division on Tuesday, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon discussed strategies to bring an end to the incessant Kassam rocket attacks and mortar shell fire towards Israeli towns and settlements originating from Palestinian villages in the area.

Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Moshe Ya'alon, OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Dan Harel, among others, recommended plans to the prime minister to be implemented against the unrelenting attacks.

National Union MK Zvi Hendel said he learned that Ya'alon had told the committee that the only "ultimate solution" to the firing of Kassam rockets is the presence of the IDF throughout the entire Gaza Strip, or at least launching another Defense Shield operation.

Ya'alon was also reported to have presented technological options for dealing with the rockets.

Hendel said that instead of letting the IDF do its job, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is "endangering the residents of Gush Katif and Sderot for the sake of the irresponsible obsession of expelling Jews."

Committee chairman Yuval Steinitz (Likud) refused to comment on Hendel's statement. MK Omri Sharon (Likud) heads the classified subcommittee.

After the discussion, Sharon met with IDF officers and soldiers serving in the Gaza Division and spoke with them about army operations in the region.

"I know that an immense effort is being made here. This is a difficult area with a lot of friction. We appreciate your excellent work and I want to thank you. With that, it is of the utmost importance to eliminate the attacks on the settlements," Sharon addressed the soldiers.

Sharon said that there was no difference between the attacks on Sderot and attacks on Kfar Darom or Gush Katif settlements - none of them can continue.

The prime minister also rejected the notion of providing the Palestinian Authority's new Chairman Mahmoud Abbas with a "grace period."

"Abu Mazen does not need an adjustment period. He knows what is happening on the ground, he knows the commanders and the people," Sharon said conclusively.

Yeah yeah, keep flapping your useless lips coward. Useless except for kissing Arab butt, that is.

Everyone knows Sharon's threats are hollow. Kill some freaking Arabs and they will listen to you. It's that simple.
