ACLJ Preparing Brief for Supreme Court
ACLJ ^ | Jan 18 2004 | Jay Sekulow

We worked late into the evening last night and early this morning preparing our brief to the Supreme Court of the United States in the Inaugural Prayer case. Dr. Michael Newdow will be filing his petition this morning with the Supreme Court, asking them to stay any Inaugural Prayer activities that would take place. We have filed our brief relying on the historical argument that prayer has been included in every Inaugural since President Washington. We have also utilized the language from Justice O’Connor’s concurring opinion in the Pledge of Allegiance case. Dr. Newdow was the plaintiff in that case where Justice O’Connor stated that, It would be ironic indeed if a nation founded by religious refugees would sever the ties that bind it to that history even today. I encourage you to take a look at the brief online at www.aclj.org. This is a critically important phase of the case....

Good. Now famewhore Newdow can finally get bitchslapped by Scalia. I'd prefer verbally, but hey, maybe the Supremes will break precedent and instead of just denying the petition, Scalia can write a "Newdow, get the F**K out of town and leave the damned country alone."

*sigh* A girl can dream......Personally, I think this twerp just got one to many wedgies in high school and the rest of us will have to pay for it.

If this whiney a$$hole wants to live in a place where the whole country subscribes to his way of thinking, North Korea is a good place to start looking. Why doesn't he just leave the USA and join their ranks. We would all be better off. The Supreme Court has already shot him down a few days ago. If he loves rejection, then go ahead. Keep crying wolf and then NO ONE will be listening.
The show goes on WITH the prayer service(s) as is the custom. Newdow need to STFU!!!!!

In my opinion, the best result for the future of our nation would be for a court to prohibit the recitation of prayer at the inauguration and for the President to ignore the ruling.

Here's the answer. It doesn't matter what this jackass thinks or for that matter what the Supreme Court decides. The President can ignore it. There are still three branches of government I last I heard. And they have equal authority. If the President wants a prayer, he gets a prayer.

I am not sure THAT would be the best result, but what I wanted to ask was exactly this: OK, if the atheist activist judges prohibit the paryer, will the heavens fall on our heads if the President recite it anyway?
