You are not sure your maid is legal or not??
No hired worker every works on or in my house before I have proof they have workers comp and insurance. A homewoner in my hometown was sued for 2 million and lost because the worker he hired was hurt on the job at this guys house. The worker had no WC or insurance so it went back right onto the homeowner. My insurnace agent cringes whenver he hears of someone hiring somone without wc.
In this day and age of lawsuits I can't imagine you putting yourself into this possible situation
In that case, I guess I hope she IS illegal. It would make her less likely to want to draw attention to herself by suing me.
If only Tom Tancredo was as careful as you before he hired that illegal alien.
