She is dizzy, almost wobbly. Her head aches, her coughing won't stop, and because she doesn't have enough money she has not filled her four prescriptions nor seen a doctor recently.

But that doesn't stop her.

Soon it will be midnight, and Ipifania Dominguez will be back at work cleaning up blood, bone and fat in the world's largest pork slaughterhouse. She'll be back in the "head room," as she calls it, where meat is cut from pigs' heads.

Not even remotely. I just happen to know that builders don't give a single damned cent back. Not one.

What an absolutely foolish statement. They'll give back what the market dictates, because if they don't, the builder next door will and he will lose the sale. You're a good example of why economics needs to be taught starting in nursery school.

"To be a Christian is to value human beings and human life above market efficiency "

Are the people in the rust belt states who are living in perpetual poverty and hopelessness because the international socialists unions ignored market efficiency better off today?

Your socialist philosophy of using the government to force wages above what the market can support was tried in Russia and Cuba. Only a blind union thug would want to force the same consequences on all Americans.

Union thugs preaching compassion are about as believable as bullfrogs whistling The Old Rugged Cross.

Simply because processing takes time and I see no point in further personal risk. Enlightened self interest, not sympathy for aliens.

New poll up!

Do you believe the Bush Administration should inform Mexico's interior secretary that there is no 'right' for Mexican citizens to work in the United States?

Yes 96% 2204 votes

No 4% 98 votes

Total: 2302 votes

I cannot believe that people think it is okay to break the law, and sit here on FR and debate their position.

Quote of the day.

oooooh. There's an awful lot of these bleeding heart stories lately. Wonder if the LaRazaMECHAAZTLAN clowns are getting nervous?

They should be...cuz it's only just begun. Imagine the frenzy after April's party in Arizona.

More to the point, why do either of these parents HAVE six children?

Because they've been too busy to have any more?

I can't help it if you don't like and have an incessant animus towards the language those builders speak.

I couldn't care less if these workers spoke Martian. What I care about is if these workers are in the United States legally and if the builders are violating federal immigration laws by hiring illegal alien workers.

I think the one complaining is the person who thinks that persons of a wrong color actually built the house.

Please put away your Race Card. The issue is not about race. It's about the law.

If only Tom Tancredo was as careful as you before he hired that illegal alien.

Source?

(And please, nothing from the notoriously pro-illegal immigration, pro-open borders Denver Post who has had Tancredo in their crosshairs for several years now).

Funy, that's what I see from the isolationists, as well.

Funny, it's usually your side that starts with the name-calling because your side can't support its pro-illegal immigration positions.

Seems it sold VERY well in November.

I don't remember the issue of illegal immigration even coming up during the presidential election campaign of 2004.

This observation is asinine. I was responding directly to someone else's comment that most illegals are gang-rapists.

My observation was 100% correct. You don't dispute that, do you?

Current immigration policy is hypocritical and racist.

Racist? You're starting to lose it now. The United States lets in about one million LEGAL immigrants per year and the vast majority of these LEGAL immigrants are non-white.

You are the ultimate bozo if you think for ONE minute that Bush won based on his ridiculous surrender proposal to Vincente Fox.

Bush won because Kerry was a fraud.

Over what? Men who refuse to work for $8.00 an hour because it isn't union scale?

The ones who sit around ice houses and pubs all day sipping light beer and bragging about not unloading their tools for less than $22.00 an hour while their wives are working as waitresses and strippers to pay the rent and utilities?

They could get all the work they wanted if they just swallowed their pride and agreed to work for market wages or went to work for a company on salary.

More American bashing from bayourod. You sure do show your true colors to everybody with your anti-American rants. Maybe someday after you retire, you can move to Mexico and be among the people that you care about the most.

LOL remember, I'm on your side on this thread. My idea of the prevailing wage is whatever the market will bear, without the interference of government or their labor union stooges.

And apparently, also without obeying our immigration and labor laws.

Perhaps next time I'll type more slowly. I said 'without the interference of government' - where do you think one's immigration status comes from?
