Amber Alert Issued for Two North Carolina Children

The Watauga County Sheriff's office and the North Carolina Department of Crime Control issued the Amber Alert after the children were abducted at gunpoint on Saturday afternoon.

Paul Canter, 2 yrs., white male, 2'7", 28 lbs with blond hair and blue eyes. Paul was wearing blue overalls and a long sleeve shirt.

Brianna Canter, 11 mos., 2'3", 18 lbs and is wearing a flowered long sleeve shirt.

Police say their father James Canter and their mother abducted them at gunpoint. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.

 

They were last seen heading west toward Tennessee in a white 2-door Ford with a white vinyl top. The vehicle has been found empty and there is no new vehicle information.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Watauga County Sheriff at 828-264-3761 or dial 911.

I think they will be found soon. Because traveling with 2 babies and their pic is all over the news. However, it they're on meth...well, those kids need to be found. I've seen what meth can do to people. Ruined my sister in laws life. Now she's lost her kids, husband and sanity. Sitting in prison.

These are the people that were running a meth lab and got busted. The kids were taken by Social Services.

BOONE (AP) — Two young children and the father who allegedly kidnapped them at gunpoint from their foster home over the weekend remained at large after shaking police in the mountains along the Tennessee border, authorities said.

An Amber Alert was issued Saturday in western North Carolina and east Tennessee after the abduction of Breanna Genevieve Chambers, 11, and her brother, James Paul Chambers, 2.

Authorities say their father, James Lee Canter, 28, brandished a gun when he and his girlfriend, Alisha Chambers, 18, took the children from a foster home in the Valle Crucis area.

On March 6, authorities raided the couple's home in a remote northern corner of Watauga County and discovered a methamphetamine lab.

Chambers, who was there, was charged with manufacturing meth and maintaining a dwelling for the manufacture of meth; deputies took out warrants for the same crimes against Canter, who wasn't home.

What I'm curious to know is, how did they know where the children were? If kids are taken away and put in foster care for good cause, the birth parents should not know WHO has them, and when they are allowed to see the kids, should only do so at a neutral site to protect the foster family from this kind of event.

The Mom looks like a poster girl for Meth Heads. Prayers for those poor children. Meth does nasty things to people's brains and their emotional state.
