Clinton Library Attendance Disappointing
NewsMax ^ | 1/18/05

When it opened two months ago, Bill Clinton's presidential library was supposed to draw so many visitors that the city of Little Rock would become a tourist mecca.

However early reports claiming that over 100,000 had visited in just the first six weeks have turned out to be bogus.

The National Archives and Records Administration, which operates the facility, tells U.S. News & World Report that only 42,054 paid to enter. The rest were guests of the former president and freebies to VIPs. Despite wall-to-wall television coverage of its opening, and a deluge of favorable press, attendance figures for the $162 million compound are even less than the attendance at the Reagan and Bush 41 libraries immediately after they opened.

"I thought it would be better," a disappointed Clinton told the magazine.

Harder to get to?! LOL. I'd like to hear her explanation for that. The Little Rock Chamber of Commerce just excreted a brick.

I have been by this site hundred of times and a navigator of the roadways I am not, but would have no trouble getting down in the riverbed if I had an ATV.

PS It is very close to the airport and right under the flight path.

That is what she said...can you believe it?

Honestly, I want to like ED and then she comes out with something idiotic (I can just tell she thinks she's being so "fair") like that.

LOL. Maybe the Chamber of Commerce should call E.D. But then they might be opening up a new can of worms, because if Little Rock and the liebrary are so easy to get to, why is the attendance so lousy?

Could it be that Clinton is not the great president that he thinks that he was?

Well, maybe she meant that Arkansas isn't as big a tourist destination as CA or TX. I guess a better determiner of popularity might be how many folks who visit Little Rock also visit the liebrary. I can't see too many going to Arkansas just to visit Toon's shrine.

Good grief, to make space for their lie-brary, the Clintons demolished this, a Little Rock African-American heritage historical site...

and replaced it with this???

If they add the blue dress, the attendance will rival Graceland.

The shine has definitely worn off the apple, methinks.

The Toons, unlike fine wine, do not improve with age.

It's only $7.00 admission for adults. And its only closed three days per year (Christmas, New Years, and Thanksgiving) so you don't have to worry about getting there on the 4th of July and finding it closed.

The Clinton Library is barely off of I40 a coast to coast interstate, and is easily seen from I30. In other words it is very accessible. There are no excuses.

I'm positive that is what she meant, but really, how stupid. How come, when the clintonistas were trilling about the expected avalanche of touristas nobody said "but Arkansas won't be a draw". As usual, the slavish media slobbered over the clinton press releases and didn't doubt for a minute.

I was very pleased to hear about this far far below projected attendance, especially since that is what I predicted. And not due to Arkansas. Due to HIM. If people liked him, they'd go. They don't, so they won't. Simple as that. (I know you know)

They need to build and open up the CounterClinton Lie-brary
