Instruments on St. Helens cease transmitting
KING-5
Posted on 01/17/2005 5:20:23 PM PST by djf
KING 5 news is reporting that the instruments on Mt. St. Helens have ceased transmitting data. They say it could be due to a steam eruption, or a rock slide, some kind of major event. Indications are that right before they stopped, the lava dome was growing at a very rapid pace.

I've seen better Test Patterns than that on late night TV.
P.S. If you look at it for too long, you start to see shapes forming of strange creatures. Have I spent too long on the computer today or are you a secret subliminal image mind controller working for a shadowy foreign government entity who also happens to be the projectionist guy who showed Coca Cola images with secret codes at cinemas in America way back in the 1950's to sell more Coke ?
P.S.S. Is that last sentence of mine long enough, or should it be longer

P.S.S.S.S. I am actually trying to distract the volcano gods with my stupid humour long enough to cause all eruptions of volcanoes around the world to cease.

Update.
There were new instruments placed on the mountain last Friday. Seismometer, a GPS unit, and a videocamera. They apparently worked until yesterday afternoon sometime. There does seem to be some kind of evidence for a spurt in the growth of the lava dome.
Scientists need to wait till the weather clears, probably on Thursday, before they will be able to assess what happened.

One way to get a good eruption? Toss it some cases of Viagra and watch the dome grow.
I need some more ash for my garden. Works wonders! Also need ash for good clay mix. Added to the ashes of my great-aunt, I can sculpt her into a decorative yet useful object that will last forever. A lamp, perhaps? She would have liked that.
