Eastwood Threatens Moore
The Internet Movie Data Base ^ | 14 January 2005

Clint Eastwood has chillingly warned documentary-maker Michael Moore he'll face certain death if he ever points his camera at him. Picking up a Special Film-making Achievement prize for Million Dollar Baby at the National Board Of Review Awards dinner in New York on Tuesday, Eastwood urged the Fahrenheit 9/11 director to avoid making him the subject of a future project if he values his life. However, Eastwood - a staunch supporter of the Republicans - did admit he and Moore have a shared view of how American society should operate. He said, "Michael Moore and I actually have a lot in common - we both appreciate living in a country where there's free expression. But, Michael, if you ever show up at my front door with a camera - I'll kill you." And when Eastwood noticed the audience had erupted in laughter to his threat, he emphasized, "I mean it." However, Moore's representatives insist the comments were intended as a joke: "Michael laughed along with everyone else, and took Mr Eastwood's comments in the lighthearted spirit in which they were given."

"so pro-life except for capital punishment when repubs are pro-death, right?"

Right. Why does that confuse you?

"I hope you mean for people that are not pressured or feel they have to consent to save their family or "society" from a burden..."

I favor it as an option for people who are in horrible chronic pain, sometimes for years, with no end in sight. Also, for Al Gore.

That would make a good movie. The "Outlaw Josey Wales" vs. "The Thing"

Eastwood's a Republican? I wouldn't have guessed considering his latest movie "Million Dollar Baby" is so pro-euthanasia.

Despicable film. There was absolutely no reason she ended up with the condition she did, and no reason for her to die.

"Despicable film. There was absolutely no reason she ended up with the condition she did, and no reason for her to die."

Actually, the condition she had is pretty common for quadriplegics. Bed sores that cause a massive infection that spreads through the body, sometimes to the heart and brain. See: Christopher Reeves.

When he was Mayor of Carmel, did how did he run, as an independent, rep or dem

The mayoral races in our area are "non-partisan", that is to say, candidates don't openly announce their party affiliation.

i was watching The Unforgiven the other night. eastwood's major theme (in that movie, as well as in high plains drifter, dirty harry, hang em high, and several others) is (righteous) RETRIBUTION. he may not pass the conservative litmus test on several issues, but retribution will generally keep him away from the dems.

I respect the man, too.

I can't think of anyone that has done more promote, the American way of life, including the right to keep and bear arms. As Dirty Harry, he may have been a rogue cop, but he was the ultimate man of justice.

"...on euthanasia. I'm a republican, for the most part, and I'm all for it."

I agree on that...with guidelines.

"I favor it as an option for people who are in horrible chronic pain, sometimes for years, with no end in sight."

Exactly. To believe a person should have to "live" in those conditions - against his or her own will - is cruel and sadistic.

Being of sound mind... I hereby request that if I am ever in a coma and cannot state my preference, UNPLUG me. If I am immobile and just cannot add anything to the common good, dust me. Then flame me and scatter my ashes where they won't disturb anyone.

Amen

Thanks.

Clint Eastwood answers his door with his 44-cal. Magnum revolver and tells Fat Boy Moore "You've gotta ask yourself a question: 'Do I feel lucky?'... Well, do ya, punk?"
