I just received a call from my brother letting me know our Dad just suffered a stroke and is going into surgury as I write this. He's hell on wheels usually and we pray he recovers successfully. There is a chance we will lose him or he recovers without the ability to speak. The doctors say he has a better than even chance of a good outcome, but at 85 years old I'm requesting your help in the form of prayers.
My Dad is a WWII vet and one hell of a guy. He has never ceased to amaze me with his wide range of abilities and wit.... and even though he has always been tough as nails with me, I love him with all my heart.

You're more than welcome.
I don't have a bump list either,
I'll ping a few more folks who do.
God Bless you, your family and your dad.
PLEASE ping your lists.

Thanks Chick
Just got off the phone with my Bro and it seems that after the Doc got the first clot freed up, a second different type formed. A second chemical was used and that clot broke up also !! He is going to have to stay in the hospital for 5-7 days from what I'm told so I will decide when to fly down there after I talk to Mom and Bro tomorrow.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued prayers and I will post comments and progress as I know them. Have a few calls to make now so will sign off until tomorrow.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and yours..
The encouraging news is that major medical advances have been made in stroke-related treatments..
Make sure you keep up on post-procedure treatments and medication regimens..
That is what will decide whether there are after effects, and offer the best chance for a full recovery..
Best of wishes to your father..
Keep him positive, give him moral support whenever possible..

It's sad to see the generation that raised our Vietnam veterans fading away. The silver lining on this dark cloud is that the younger generation of seasoned warriors is taking their place to lead us into the future. Maybe they'll avoid some of the mistaken and misplaced trust in big government that plagued the previous generation.

Nam Vet IMO Prayer Requests are never vanity.
Lord Christ hear the Prayers for Nam Vet's Dad and heart felt love of Nam Vet for more time with his Dad.

Heavenly Father, we return with praise to thank You for the good news that this beloved father is successfully being treated for his stroke. May Your healing hand rest mightily upon him, O God, that he would fully recover. Give wisdom to those attending him, that each turn of events would be met with proper treatment ... that nothing would be overlooked to help in his recovery ... that he would be strengthened unto the day when he returns to his loving family. Encourage the hearts of family and friends, for in Your hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. Job 12:10. In the Name of Jesus, Amen ...

Nam Vet my prayers are with you and your father. My Dad, WW11 Vet (B-17 Bombadier) just passed away this past Veteran's Day from Leukemia. It was a hard fight to the end, but since I live in Japan I got to spend a good month with him before he regressed. I wish your father the best and a fast recovery. Another Nam era vet (Nakhon Phanom).
