Per MSNBC
Exactly.
It might not be 'fair', but guess what? We will never get fair treatment. The people who voice moral outrage at the abuses of Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo seem to lose their zeal against actual terrorists and murderers. It's not even remotely fair that we're held to such an idealized high standard, and the most gutless, cowardly killers get a pass.
But they do.
That's reality. We are the good guys. They are the bad guys. We must act accordingly, even though the world will pretend otherwise. It's insane, but there is no other way.
And what kind of message are the people of Iraq sending to the U.S./Coalition countries in their punishment of Zarqawi? Oh, wait, they can't find him or something. We can only wait and hope . . . nice people that we are.
Sorry...I've been reading your posts...me thinks you would be better suited for the DU crowd...sorry....
What is the sentence for FRATERNIZING WITH A LOWER RANK AND KNOCKING HER UP?
What is the sentence for RUNNING WHAT AMOUNTED TO PIMPING a FELLOW MILITARY PERSON TO YOUR PALS?
What is the sentence for TAKING PORN PICTURES OF YOUR COMRADES IN ARMS AND POSTING THEM?
What is the sentence for PERJURY?
What is the sentence for MISTREATING PRISONERS IN YOUR CARE...as in punching them for no reason at all?
What is the sentence for REPEATEDLY IGNORING THE ORDERS GIVEN ONE,BY ONE'S SUPERIOR OFFICERS?
Ten years for those crimes,is light.
Speaking of all of this, whatever happened to the soldier in the 101st Airborne who threw the grenades in the tents of his sleeping superiors killing his captain and injuring a few others in Kuwait before the war got started. I never hear about him or if he has even been brought to trial. You'd think the soldiers at Abu-Ghraib were the only courtmartials going on.
He hurt our military, he sent the pictures to friends and family by email for heavens sake..His fun and games have cost us plenty..Pictures don't lie
He gave ammunition to every lefty, anti American, Eurotwit and mullah to slam our military..
I despise what he did....HE HURT OUR MILITARY
And personally attacking me,because of your own abject stupidity, proves that point in spades...newbie.
And based upon what you said, you are a Liberal. Frankly, your views are a little irrelevant.
Personally, I wouldn't have shed a tear if he got fifty years.
Graner gave militant Islam a great victory in the war of "hearts and minds."
Beyond simply being disgusting, his actions damaged our nation in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Let him rot in a cell.
Allow me to try to answer why Kerry was brought into this thread---I think I was the first to mention him.
The reason I did is because the direction that the dems like Kerry are the ones that are making the prison deal a bigger problem for our troops than even the Iraqi people are!!
They are making it like Bush, Rummy and Gonzales all told Graner and Lyndie England to do this---
Remember Kerry's testimony to congress when he was bad-mouthing the war and the troops in Vietnam--I do believe he used a phrase like the soldiers were "dying for a big nothing", well his and other dems characterization of AB is just like calling all of the troops in Vietnam baby-killers.
Not to diminish this particular case, but we have a certain U.S. Senator and former Presidential candidate currently running free across the Middle East and Europe undermining our President's Foreign Policy that has admitted before a Congressional committee of committing atrocities that were far worse than naked human pyramids and panty head shots.
Dood...yes...sorry..but dood...you have NO clue what happened in that prison...you only have what the press tells you....hmm...wonder if the islamofacists pig threw shite on the guard...or tried to pee on him..or spit on him...hmm...only the Shadow knows....
No, the people that did wrong and took pictures gave the islamofascists the victory.
Personal responsibility, folks. These guys did wrong, and foolishly keep evidence of it. Now they're busted, and paying for it. We're it not for the fact that these photos were so politically explosive and damaging, the case would barely be worth a laugh.
As it is, these prison guards hurt the war effort, embarrassed the Army, and made a joke of America's reputation. Now they're going to be punished for it, if for nothing else than to serve as an example for anyone else doing wrong and taking pictures.
Read the lenghty article at post #141 and one can understand why Graner deserves 10 years. He is a danger to society IMHO.
You are 100% correct...CONGRATULATIONS! :-)
"I simply said thats what people from outside the site would think if they just happened to stumble upon a post calling for the arrest of John Kerry for treason."
Quit worrying about what "they think"
Worry about how the US Constitution,
14th Amendment Section 3
is upheld.
