Take a look/listen at this short video....HERE.... It is a humorus video of the National ID card program. Is this going to happen here in the USA? Most European nations already have a National citizen ID program. Again it's very funny and worth a laugh and a thought too..

The government must first shut down the borders.
It then must show me where in the Constitution it says...the government is allowed to issue ID's and tell the people that it is allowed to do that.
It then must show me how well this government will stand up to resistance by any means to a national ID.
If it can do all of this...then I'll accept national ID.
We already have a national ID. It's called a Social Security number--which is ironic, because originally the government promised it would never use that number as a means of identification.
Or, barring that, you always have your driver's license.
The government needs to raid the ACLU's offices, confiscate their books and computers, and indict them on legal racketeering and extortion practices. Disbar them all, and top it off with stiff prison sentences. These are the same scum who want Guantanamo detainees to sue the United States government.
For a change, I agree with the ACLU.
I'm from a country with a national ID system instituted. Uh, but I can't really comment on how it's affected me, given that I've lived overseas for most of my life.
I say no to a national I.D. IN ADDITION TO, not unless the government does the following things you listed. There is no reason for having a national I.D., EVER!!!!
What about your passport?
I hate to admit it, but the ACLU is RIGHT on this one.
I hate to admit it, but the ACLU has just extrapolated the card to its probable end, and they are right on on this one.
An Id card for voting and SS# that would swipe into a national database that would bring up a picture ID on the screen would be great tool for fighting voter fraud, and illegals getting our jobs. Nothing else will do the job.
Quite incorrect.
To be a natural citizen of the U.S., the Constitution says you must be born here. The Constitution itself thus recognized when written that there was more than one class of citizens.
The intent is clear that a record has to be established as to who is a natural-born citizen, and who is already a naturalized citizen, and who is WORKING to become a full naturalized citizen.
Further, the Constitution says that to be a Representative to Congress, you must have been a citizen for 7 years and a resident of the state you represent, which again shows intent that there be some recored of identification and residency. A Senator has to be a citizen for 9 years before election to the office.
My point is that the Constitution requires a lot of records that identify who is a citizen and where they reside. ID cards are constitutional and I bet the courts will so rule.
Look in your wallet. Drivers license with picture, address, date of birth, social security number. Social Security card, Credit cards, membership cards, and maybe employer ID card. POINT is that your are already a well known public figure. SECOND POINT there is no Constitutional guarantee of privacy. You can wish it was there, but it isn't.
For all these cards, all we need is a national database with a swipe card that would bring up a photo. Big deal. All the hysteria over nothing.
"We already have a national ID. It's called a Social Security number--which is ironic, because originally the government promised it would never use that number as a means of identification."
Yep! Oklahoma used to use your social security number as your driver's license ID! I don't know if they've changed it or not. Also don't know if that's how other states do things either...I DO know Texas has a different driver's ID than your ss#.
Just push the "National ID" as a means of preventing vote fraud. Then the demonrats will be against it 100 %.
Yep.
