'Simple Life' Denies Deer-Poaching Claim

DENNIS TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Paris Hilton's reality show "The Simple Life" is disputing allegations that a deer was illegally killed so that it could be gutted by the socialite and her sidekick, Nicole Richie.

State officials said the deer was killed Tuesday night and they believe it was to be gutted for the show. Investigators are looking into accounts the deer was shot by someone firing a gun from inside a car.

Two men working for the Fox show could face fines of between $100 and $500 for permit violations and hunting out of season, said Elaine Makatura, spokeswoman for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Todd Beck, a spokesman for Bunim-Murray Productions, which produces "The Simple Life," said no one connected to the show was involved in shooting the deer.

The reality show, which features Hilton and Richie working in a series of menial jobs, was earlier prohibited from filming a segment at a nearby school after parents complained that Hilton's lifestyle was not a good role model for children.

Well imagine that.

Uhhhhh...excuse my insolence, but if no one connected to the show was involved in the shooting of the deer, how did you know to do an episode on it? I'm no Hollyweird executive but I'm pretty sure these types of things are planned months in advance.

Of course they did it. But it's strictly a misdemeanor affair - violation of hunting permit laws -, so this story really is a tempest in a teapot.

I have a feeling that none of these Hollyweird types even know that there are laws governing deer hunting.

Paris Hilton and Nicole Ritchie try to live like Red State Americans do. Its funny to see the Left draw blank looks at seeing two effete snobs try to live like Miss Jane Long Island Iced Tea.

Why did they need to do a show on gutting deer?

Dennis Township - they ended up 'way down there, eh?...they had wanted to shoot some of the show while the girls were pretending to be teachers at Buena middle school, but the good citizens of Buena rose up en masse and protested to the point that the idea was abandoned...the culture wars aren't entirely lost apparently.......

$500 fine? They spend that on coffee breaks on these productions.

Actually, only about 34 out of 340 families protested. Pretty pathetic, if you ask me. I guess that's to be expected, nowadays.

Gun rights are crucial to the protection of private property.

Rights, farms, environment ping.
Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from this list.
I don't get offended if you want to be removed.

Probably going to get flamed for this, but...
I think Paris was better suited to be a porn actress than a reality TV actress.
