Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart announced that he will return to Southern California for his senior season.

Leinart, 21, obviously had a difficult time deciding. Early this week he said he has sometimes changed his mind almost hourly.

The redshirt junior and the Trojans didn't play their final game of the season until Jan. 4, when he threw an Orange Bowl record five touchdown passes in a 55-19 win over Oklahoma that gave USC a second consecutive national title.

I'm surprised, he'd better pray he doesn't blow out a knee his senior year. Of course I'm sure he already insured himself in that case.

This was not USC's second national title. Only one team won a crystal football in 2003 and that team is located in Baton Rouge.

Bingo. Enjoy his senior year, play hard, and rest assured that an injury will still mean $$.

I heard that USC wasn't going to be too upset if Leinart left, because the other QB they have is even better.

Might as well cancel next season and let USC keep the trophy.

I'm not surprised at all. He probably didn't want to play for SF, Miami or Cleveland. Bet Green Bay snatches him next year.

Bingo! I bet that was the biggest factor of all. This may be a case where waiting a year, even though he foregoes potential millions of dollars, could pay off in the long run, if he goes to a better organization.
