It is not intellectual ability thet the left-wing lunatic fringe types lack, it is common sense and wisdom.

As said in Romans 1:22 ---- Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

Hey - read my tagline!

Bostock is actually a pretty good writer. I manage to read Creative Loafing every now and then (usually whilst eating Japanese food on Thursday nights at my favorite sushi bar.) When Cliff forgets that he is a raging poofter and writes about some topic that doesn't involve his confusion over what constitutes a sex organ, he can come up with something that is interesting to read.

BTW, the Ansley Mall fitness center he is talking about is one of the more 'gay' parts of Atlanta, in that there are several gay bars and book stores in the same mall area (actually, just behind it.) There are also a couple of great Thai restaurants there as well. I used to shop at the Kroger there until the one on Peachtree opened.

Regarding Bostock's predictable stance on 'gay' marriage, etc., he is pretty well a lost cause in that regard, They have all convinced themselves that they are fighting for their 'civil rights', and have already gone past any point wherein they might consider their 'lifestyles' as aberrant, deviant, or unnatural. All they are asking is that we take an institution (marriage) that evolved over thousands of years to provide the best environment for raising children (and therefore continuing the species), and restructure it to accommodate their fetishes (which they do not see as fetishes.)

Thank you. I wish you could have a talk with my liberal boyfriend regarding my FReeping habits. His views are about identical to yours, but he's under the impression that FreeRepublic is full of bloodthirsty "let's send all liberals to Abu Gharaib and exterminate 'em" psychos. I find the discourse on FreeRepublic to be very polite. There are exceptions, and there are some ideas I don't agree with that many Freeper cherish, but like you I try to not to go stirring hornet's nests.

I do think that the very high average age of the FReeper influences the quality of the discourse more than anything else, though. Average age here probably is late 40s. By that age, you're no longer into pot as much and you generally just aren't as passionate/emotional. Not that Freepers aren't passionate, but you know what I mean?

I believe that this is the Jack Black that he was referring to (the FReeper):

I Blog BooksI spent a few minutes researching the Pacifica Graduate Institute, seeing as I had never heard of it.

Yes, so did I. The degree in depth psychology involves studies in alchemy, mythology and spiritual mysticism (which I short-handed as "palmistry"). The eco-psychology course is part of the MA/PhD depth psychology course-work at UPacifica.

Though, just for kicks, I'd wander into New Paltz and ask to marry my computer.

Yes, and when they refused, you could get all liberal-hysterical and accuse them of being fascists.

Birchers and KKK types are routinely ridiculed and booted out of here. Goldberg and Drudge left to form websites for profit and the Free Republic was viewed as a friendly competitor.

There is no reason to actually visit the Drudge site once you know about FreeRepublic. Hundreds of other linked articles and every article that you will find on Drudge will be found here with the added benefits of commentary and without the annoying pop ups that Drudge has.

Drudge dropped his FreeRepublic link because it is a very dumb business move to advertise a product that is much better than (and which can replace) your own product.

This writer's screed is basically nothing more than anyone here babbling on and on that his writing is nothing more than reading ( insert the name of the most extremist and vile far-Left wing hate group here ).

His commentary is so over-the-top and hysterical that he essentially mocks himself.

"But, but.. I LOVE my computer! She brings me warmth, happiness, and comfort!"

You could really scramble their minds by saying "HE brings me warmth and happiness". They'd be so conflicted their heads would twist off.

LOL!

I think their skulls would explode from the stresses involved.
The conflict within would erupt molten mind goo out the tops of their heads.

That's a good point. In terms of news, FR is the ultimate in one-stop shopping.

Drudge is kind of a specialty shop that specializes in ultrafresh news. But if it's a significant item, it'll be on FR within a few minutes -- with the benefit of freeper commentary.

This writer's screed is basically nothing more than anyone here babbling on and on that his writing is nothing more than reading ( insert the name of the most extremist and vile far-Left wing hate group here ).

Exactly. If you've seen one of these screeds, you've about seen them all. The only time they're interesting is when they have an element of truth to them and make me uncomfortable. When there's no truth, my eyes glaze over. They just bounce off.
