Randy Moss has been told he will be fined $10,000 for his end-zone celebration, a Vikings source told ESPN's Chris Mortenson on Thursday.
NFL officials would not confirm or deny the report.
Moss caught a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of the Vikings' 31-17 win over the Packers on Sunday and headed toward the goalpost. He then turned his back to the Lambeau Field crowd, bent over and pantomimed pulling down his pants.
Moss didn't practice with the Vikings on Wednesday because of a sprained right ankle, but he's listed as probable for Sunday's playoff game at Philadelphia.
Sunday night, an NFL spokesman told ESPN's Chris Mortensen: "Randy Moss can expect to be hearing from us."

I am a Vikings fan, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I live smack, dab in the middle of Packer Country. And the idolization of that team is something indescribable. Be it the martyrdom of Brett Favre (whom I love btw.), to the Lambeau mystique. It gets pretty unbearable.
Two years ago, Brett Favre walked off the field with time left on the clock, and refused to stick around to congratulate the winning team after a lose. This was described as "frustration". When Randy Moss did it last weekend, it was "disgusting". Last week while the game was being played, one of the Viking defenders gave a late hit to a receiver. It was obvious while looking at the play, that he did not realize the play was over, and didn't hear the whistle. He was flagged with a personal foul (which was justified), yet during the same play, Brett came over and punched the defender, grabbed his face mask, and slapped away an officials hand. Result of that? NOTHING!!!!
The double standard is outrageous. Do I think Randy Moss should have been fined?.....Probably, but do I think it was "disgusting" (as Joe Buck described it)?......NO WAY!!!!
As for the AFRO, that he was wearing, that was disgusting. But there is a hidden meaning in that also. He and his teammates did it in a show of solidarity, it is an acronym for Americas (A) Finest (F) Receivers (R) On (O) Sunday (S). They did it last year also after a losing streak against Kansas City, and they won, so they tried it again. And it worked.
And it was hysterical -- and I don't even like Randy Moss.

I have heard this mentioned a couple times this past week. Tony Dungey of the Colts stated this and laughed about Moss doing what he did. I do not like Michael Wilbon - I think his writing is somewhat anti-white - but he had a good point this past week. We are so worred about what Moss did yet we have 20-30 women on each sideline, barely dressed, and doing stripper moves. I think Moss is a punk but the NFL is being hypocrits again.
Clearly they are not serious about stopping it.
The fine should be in addition to the 25yd penalty on the ensuing kickoff. I promise you it would stop in a heart beat.

They are paid to be athletes, yes. They aren't paid to be role models, nor should they be expected to be so. How many Packer kids see their drunken fans mooning the visiting team after each game? Where's the responsibility there?
This mooning thing was ridiculously blown out of proportion. The fans got what they deserved.

As does Terry Bradshaw's adulation of the guy. What was disgusting and embarrassing was the performance of Favre's 4 INTs and that pathetic excuse of a GB secondary.

It was below freezing, and that idiot had a baby out there with Packer pajamas on, no mittens, and no scarf. That is what was disgusting to me. Does this parent have no common sense? That baby had to have been outside for a minimum of two hours, in a crowd with obviously intoxicated fans.
I am all for family bonding, but use your brains, a baby cannot handle cold like you and I can. I am sure this baby was no more than 6 to 8 months old!!!!

He should have gone out in the parking lot. The fans do it for free there when the opposing team bus leaves. 50-100 do it every week.
But whatever happened to restraint? To class? To "discretion being the better part of valor"? Just because he can do it doesn't mean he should. He could emulate folks like Barry Sanders, and just flip the ball to the official and walk to the sideline, not even acknowledging the fan's taunts. That bugs fans more than anything in the world. Instead, he has to be a punk, to show the fans "I can be a bigger jackass than you! Watch!".
It's stunts like that that make me hope Randy Moss, like Barry Bonds, will never taste a championship in his entire career. Fortunately, playing for the Vikings, that part seems assured.
These immature children in men's bodies who are childishly seeking to direct attention to themselves are abnormal and boring!

I have been watching football for years, long enough to remember when the only things that happened in the end zone were a touchdown, an incomplete pass, an interception or a fumble. I don't like all of the displays the players go through, whether it's T. O. or Randy Moss or whomever. You get paid to score those touchdowns, do it, and get off the field. You can high-five and dance with your teammates on the sidelines.
