Gay activists and their supporters often say, "Why would someone choose to be gay?" But why would someone want to change political parties? Why would someone want to change their religion? Maybe it's just what they feel like they need to do, or be.
Gay activists and their supporters often resort to using this phrase or one similar to it. They state: Why would someone choose to be gay in a world where they will face grief and opposition over their sexual orientation?
To which I respond: Why would a Muslim choose to convert to Christianity in a region of the world like Sudan or Iran where they will face grief, opposition, persecution, or even death over their religious orientation?
As well, why would someone choose to change their political orientation, to say Republican, in a family which is strictly union Democrat, and which has voted exclusively Democrat for generations, when they will face grief and opposition over their political orientation?
Now, some may respond that you cannot compare sexual orientation with political or religious orientation, since one makes the choice to convert from one religion or political orientation to another, and that one doesn't choose to be gay, that they are "born that way."
Gays aren't "born that way", though.
Numerous scientific studies, posted at http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1300464/posts, show these things:
1.) Environment plays a strong role in homosexuality developing. Almost all of the experts who have done some type of study on homosexuality say that homosexuality cannot be explained apart from reference to environmental factors.
2.) There is a strong prevalance of same-sex sexual abuse in the childhoods of homosexuals.
3.) Many homosexuals themselves link their homosexuality to their sexual victimization experiences.
4.) Gender Identity Disorder, gender confusion and other environmental factors have been shown to play a role in homosexuality developing in some individuals.
5.) There is no "gay gene." Identical-Twin studies, as well as other studies, have smashed this possibility.
6.) Personal choice, to some degree, is involved in all behaviors, sexual or otherwise. Even some lesbians agree with this. Genetic or environmental factors are never overwhelming.
So, you can see that the argument of "Why would someone choose to be gay in a world where they will face grief and opposition over their sexual orientation", doesn't hold water, and neither does the lie of gays being "born that way."
Any government that assumes the role as the final arbiter of private, religious associations and contracts between individuals represents the antithesis of a free society. A country that delegates upon itself the authority to approve or disapprove of the relationships between individuals who love each other, is not free and cannot identify itself as a place of liberty.
"Part of it is the desire to be 'different'."
I don't buy it. Why do they flock together then? Why do they form entire communities in cities? Why don't they move to Tulsa, rather than San Francisco?
I meant the perpetrator did not have the ability to resist, I guess thats the same thing as deciding not to resist. The issue here is how strongly the mind was conditioned to resist or whether the mind was told over and over that there is no morality, everything is relative...
To revel in their victimhood.
And for better prospects for anonymous sex with large numbers of other deviants.
That's why AIDS hit them so hard and has had so little impact on normal folks.
You have defined the bottom line.
Actually, the example of "them" who can be spotted at a young age, are those who display Gender-Identity Disorder, gender confusion, or even Sissy-Boy Syndrome(yes, it is actually a real medical syndrome)So I wouldn't count "them" as an example of a hole in my argument.
You left out:
7) Narcissism: Love thyself, love someone just like thyself.
8) Laziness: it's too much work trying to compromise and understand the opposite sex.
9) Trendiness: "It's cool to be gay and it really bugs the 'rents."
10) Peer pressure: "It's the only way to fit in; I want to be cool!)
11) Effiminatism: Women often, stupidly, reject guys who are slightly effeminate, sensitive or of small stature. The homosexuals welcome all new recruits.
12) Attention: Particularly attractive people are the targets of the over-sexed from both sides of the fence. The homosexuals often come out with the highest bid.
13) Nymphomania: Sex addicts are attracted to sex-addicts. Young men want it more than young women. So, the obsessed with gratification crowd takes it where it's most plentiful. Please note: Lesbians are more likely to be older since they reach their sexual peak 10 years or so later.
14) Perhaps even drug use: I've noticed that young men who grew up on various mental drugs seem to be very prone to homosexuality. This on is just a theory. Wouldn't it be bizarre if it turned out that there is some widely-used drug that induces homosexuality, like Claritin or Ritalin or Prozac? Or red dye #40?
For the same reason Goths cling together. They are different together. They stand out in a crowd.
Are you actually trying to make a case that no bio parents ever sexually abuse their own children?
What do you mean "no indication of parent abuse"??? It is a fact that parents abuse their children both physically and sexually. Not ALL parents but certainly there are parents who have and unfortunately still do sexually abuse their children.
I just thought they liked the smell of farts.
Scientific studies and research (provided at the start of this thread) indicate that childhood molestation is one of the major factors in who becomes homosexual but don't let the *facts* get in the way of your flaming.
Don't confuse genetics with biology. There are other biological factors that are not genetic (non-genetic birth defects and chemicals in the womb affecting brain development, for instance)
My brother and I are adult individuals who love each other. According to your statement above we should be free to marry and reproduce. Is that what you meant?
My husband, my best friend and I are all adult individuals who love each other so according to your statement above the 3 of us should also be free to marry each other as one unit. Is that what you meant?
Good points - also, the lie that people are told (especially kids) that if they've had one "gay" experience and enjoyed it , they are now "gay" forever, carved in stone, born that way. They are now part of the "gay community" forever.
No wonder so many are alcohol and drug abusers. Reminds me of what it said in the Inferno - "Abandon Hope, All Ye Who Enter".*
*or words to that effect, I never read it.
Total nonsense.
Typing the word "scientific" doesn't make it so. Don't let the facts get in the way of your theories, though.
Your posts (so far) are the ones most to the point of this issue. It is a choice. Lust ("orgasm addiction"), and its attendant selfishness, that is, the desire to satisy self in the face of all societal norms, taboos, restrictions, and risks of rejection...is the god of their lives, their idol. They have "given themselves over to their own lusts".
Their lust.....TRUMPS.....everything.
It's really that simple.
