I have to disagree. I've known a few guys in grade school who were fruity even back then. They then grew up to be full blown homos (no pun intended, well,,,,maybe). You could pick em out even back then.
I imagine that many have heard the phrase "why would someone choose to be gay...." many times. I know that I have heard it countless times. Just thought that I would post a thread which deals with this.
For whomever is interested, here's the link to the scientific studies which show that gays aren't "born that way."

How, and when did the term gay start being applied to homosexuals?
Every homosexual that I personally know is anything but gay. Most are downright miserable.
Yeah but that could still be their upfetchins. It doesn'r mean their attractions were determined by genetics.
For the same reason some choose to have sex with sheep.
I believe Hollyweird is making it seem "cool" to be a homosexual. It's the "in" thing. But I'm out.
Rather than be seen as failures and freaks in a normal society, they choose to become part of a sub-culture that celebrates freaks.
I was it was a poll about if you agree with the war or not, this is too vauge, but I voted anyway.
Good argument, but still has holes--like the guy who pointed out that you can spot "them" at a young age.
For the better singles mixers on Wednesday nights????
Mazel Tov!
Really?
You think heterosexuality was a choice you made?
Interesting.....for me it just came naturally.
How old were you when you realized that you wanted to be straight, and that the gay lifestyle had no appeal to you?
Did you have your doubts, as no doubt many adult Republicans had their teen flirtations with leftist ideals?
Do you think you could have been dissauded from your eventual choice by persuasive arguments, perhaps even by an offer of cash or preferment?
Are you sure you're set in your ways now, or is it still a matter of choice, akin to one's chosen career or pastime?
For me, I think I was born straight, but maybe I'm ust a hardwired and inflexible freak.
Maybe they just like it better that way, who knows
What difference does it make if it is a choice or not. People choose to ACT on their desires; does anyone choose to be attracted to children? This same argument could be used to defend pedophiles. The difference is that homosexuality is politically correct, socially excepted deviance, nothing more.
I do not know whether homosexuality is determined by some genetic predisposition, or what. However, I do not think it is much of a choice either. If one states that homosexuality is a choice that would mean that anyone could choose to be homosexual. I could not be homosexual. I am not sexually attracted to other men, and I believ this is the consensus between most people. We really cannot choose who we are sexually attracted to, we just are. I don't know why I find certain women attractive and others not, I just do. I think this is what most people including homosexuals experience.
whoops, sorry, wrong thread, sorry guys. delete both posts please.

Maybe they're just miserable around you.
;)
Normalcy is not a choice. Behavior, however, always is for humans of sound mind.

As it does for everyone who isn't mentally deranged into believing they're attracted to someone of the same sex.
I agree. I remember reading an article on FR some time back about how the proportion of high-schoolers nationally that self-identify as homosexual is far greater than the actual level of homosexuality found in the general population. And everyone knows how teenagers will do anything to be trendy and "individual" just like everyone else.
I am myself so uncool that it's cool.
I am pretty sure pedophiles are not really attracted to children. What they are attracted to is the power they feel by victimizing children.
