" Why not? What are the "qualifications" you have in mind?"

Refraining from advising peiople to vote for Democrats comes to mind. There are other sites for that.

After that, work on refraining from posting nonsense like that "useful idiot" malarkey.

On second thought, never mind. After that little bit of wisdom, I have no wish to listen to your opinions again. It's obvious that none would be useful.

The organizers of the concert evidently felt that enough people were concerned about it.

Pay attention: he was NEVER booked for this party.

I didn't say that it was bad. I'm confused as to what makes you think I thought it isn't.

LOL

"Its obvious the writer of the song is tormented by the abortion"

It's not obvious to me at all. When I read the lyrics, it appears to be communicating the emptiness and desparation of an individual hooked on drugs.

He was supporting the military before 9-11-01. The inauguration is military appreciation themed. I would think he would fit in, just as much as a 14 year old singing about love (Jojo) (lololol)

http://teenmusic.about.com/cs/artistbios/a/kidrock2003a_2.htm

Kid Rock has been loud and proud in his support of the men and women of the United States Military. In January 2001, he donated proceeds from a Norfolk, Virginia concert to the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society, an effort undertaken to aid the families of those crewmembers killed in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole. The concert came about after Rock heard that 'American Bad Ass' was played over the loudspeakers of the crippled naval ship just as it pulled out of port to head home. December of that year saw Rock and TBT visiting the Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany to perform alongside J-Lo and Ja Rule for a massive U.S.O. show (later broadcast on MTV as For The Troops: An MTV/U.S.O. Special).

In June 2003, Rock ventured to Kuwait, Qatar, and Iraq as part of a U.S.O. tour to brighten the spirits of troops serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. A highlight of the journey occurred as Rock arrived at a military hangar in Baghdad expecting to just sign autographs. When the thousands of troops waiting to meet him started cheering, the Motor City superstar decided to put on an impromptu concert, using instruments on stage designated for a military band.

So it would appear. So now we are not only immoral liberals, we're also useful idiots.

I didn't know I could be so many things I didn't think I was. Perhaps I've been abducted by aliens, and I have a doppleganger posting under my name? What do you think?

LOL

I tend to think that you have no idea what you are talking about. Generally the "prudes" you are talking simply have experience a lot more than you have or ever will and have a lot more on the ball than you.

Excuse me....do you know me? And, what does 'experience' have to do with what I said?

'Pay attention: he was NEVER booked for this party.'

I read that. I never said that he was booked. But apparently he has been considered and that is what this is about.

Man, I thought it was bad, catching hell in my band for saying "f#*% democrats and their socialism and f@#$ people who want to take away our personal and economic freedoms"...

now I have to worry about people who I'd want to be psyched about that saying "OH MY GOD HE JUST SAID THE F WORD!"

you can never catch a break being a conservative rock n roller type...

Mr. Ritchie has been a huge supporter of our military as he tirelessly performs for the troops stationed all over the world. Recently, he even held a party at his home for soldiers returning from Iraq.

He played a show during the Republican National Convention in New York to raise funds for the Republican Party. Also recently, he played at the Kennedy Center at a show that President Bush attended. And later he attended a party for Colin Powell. He also performed at Tommy Franks' retirement party.

Kid also does a lot of work to help children, including being a huge part of the annual Tree Festival in Detroit, in which this year he purchased a red, white and blue Christmas Tree for an undisclosed sum for the Children's Hospital of Michigan.

"Actually, the song is about abortion."

I sure don't get that from the lyrics. Sounds like a guy bemoaning the emptiness and desparation of drug addiction to me.

"Actually he was BANNED."

If by banned you mean 'disinvited,' then okay. So if you want your kids to listen to Kid Rock, go get them a CD.

There was something about that on the other thread. A pro-life organization was thanking him for making the song (Without actually endorsing his lifestyle or music, btw). I'll see if I can find it again and post a link to it here.

Who'll cast 1st stone at Kid Rock?

I read WorldnetDaily, well ... daily. I'm one of those 20-somethings finishing his bachelor's. I'm a Christian, and one of those rare (but growing in numbers) college conservatives. I read your article on Kid Rock playing at the President's inaugural event.

I disagree with those "Christians" who would be offended by him playing at the event. I think it is a wise move to have Kid play.

The thing that I think is neglected is the fact that this inauguration event is not designed simply for Christians. There is no way they are going to let Kid Rock cuss on stage. The anger about Kid playing at all may be understandable if event were a Billy Graham evangelical outreach. But it's not.

These Christians who would be so offended would be offended at everything and anything. They are the same Christians who spend way too much time pointing out the specks in their brother's eye to try and hide the plank in their own. They are the same "Christians" who use the Bible out of context, without even taking the time to understand it.

Kid Rock is a sinner. But, guess what? So am I, and every single Christian that feels offended by Kid playing the event. They can exclude Kid Rock from any church event that they want, but excluding him from the American process is not America.

Maybe Kid Rock does not share a relationship with our savior. But, President Bush is his beloved president just as much as he is ours.

Boyce

Are you hosting the event? Did you and people your age cough up the money for it? If you didn't, then tough. The people who are paying for it can get whomever they see fit for entertainment and you can choose not to go if the entertainment is not crass or lewd enough for you.

Never mind. There are well over a thousand posts there-I don't have the stamina to hunt through the haystack. But it's towards the end, if I'm not mistaken, if you feel like looking for it.

My eyes can't take it, lol.
