Every which way we turn, in every corner of the globe we live amongst people from all manner of backgrounds, races, colour, creed and religions. For the most, mankind has conformed to a kind of global social etiquette of tolerance of these many diversities, as long as they live within the realms of civilised laws.
Even so, the advancement of this multi-cultural harmony has historically been faced with various uncompromising threats of differing forms and dynamics and thus undermining the development of the free and civilised world. In times gone by the world has often been confronted by some very unsavoury characters, from the global dangers of the spread of Nazi fascism to the menace of unsociable behaviour of drunken youths, society has always managed to overcome these extremes in the name of evolution and our ultimate survival. This will no doubt be a generic part of our lives for many decades to come.
However, the primary question that must be asked is have we learned anything from these experiences? What lessons did we take away with us after the fall of Hitler? Can we now recognise the treacherous cult leaders of this world such as the infamous David Koresh and the Waco disaster? Has the tragedy of Beslan taught us anything, anything at all? The answers to all these questions will be in the actions we take from today moving forwards; which means we must be evermore vigilant with the choices we make as individuals, communities and nations. Today there is threat to the world much greater than the Adolf Hitlers and David Koreshs of our time, a threat that should make our alarm bells ring much louder than ever before, a threat that is growing day by day and yet, the world does not seem as troubled as they might have been with Hitler or Koresh.
This leaves one with a very uneasy sense, especially when the evidence is staring one straight in the face. Theo van Gogh, the Dutch filmmaker and great grandson of famous painter Vincent van Gogh, tragically fell prey at the hands of this dangerous force. His appalling death was in retaliation of a recent film he had made, Submission, criticising the mistreatment of Muslim women. Van Gogh was hunted down by a radical Islamic Dutch Moroccan, who had shot him several times, stabbed him repeatedly, slit his throat and with the same knife, fixed a note on his body containing versus from the Quran and a warning to Ms. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the films screenwriter and controversial Dutch MP, who is widely known for her criticism of Islam. Others too, have fallen prey to such threats. Mimount Bousakla, a Belgian senator of Morrocan origin, also known for her criticism of Islam, Ms. Laurette Onkelinkx, Belgiums Justice Minister, Belgiums Former Justice Minister Philippe Moureaux and Brussells politician, Mohamed Chahid, Geert Wilders Dutch MP who has called for a 5-year moratorium on all non-European immigration, are all under 24 hour police protection. It is not clear how long this list of names has to be before the warning bells start sounding.
The Cult of Psychological Warfare
Van Goghs assailant Mohammed Bouyeri, who was later found to be a member of a larger team of extremist Muslims, was soon arrested and faces six terrorism charges. He was a second-generation immigrant, with Moroccan/Dutch citizenship who spoke little Arabic. The young boy who gave up his studies, was no stranger to the police and boasted a list of minor crimes, had links with the fundamentalist imam and follower of the Tabligh movement, Mahmud El-Shershaby, along with his close friend Samir Azzouz, who was allegedly arrested in Ukraine for terrorist charges back in 2002 while en route to Chechnya. Even so, examining Bouyeris background, he is not unlike many others around his age, whether black or white, Asian or Mid-eastern. Young, impressionable, disillusioned, embittered, naïve, bored, high on testosterone, not always wanting to conform to the rule of law, having come from a dysfunctional background, looking for a new direction in his life, perhaps even a little excitement to escape what he perceived as regulation.
Yet, it would seem that like many terrorists, he did not escape restrictions, quite to the contrary it would seem that prior to the pre-meditated murder, he had already given in to the clutches of a much stronger and deep-rooted controlling dominance than that of the rule of law; led by some high divine right which was to be the driving force that compelled Bouyeri to kill in cold blood. One must hasten to add that this does not necessarily imply all children from dysfunctional backgrounds will set their sights on religious fundamentalist terrorism under the misapprehension that it would be the answer to all their troubles. Nonetheless, Bouyeri was an easy target and great a candidate for any imam or Islamic cleric to indoctrinate and brainwash as a future terrorist by stirring up racial hatred.
As with Hitler or David Koresh, by exploiting the vulnerable and impressionable in such a way, fundamentalist Islamic clerics have begun to recruit a sinister cult of spiritual slavery, dictating how they live, what they do, how they think to the point where they cannot reason and moulds them to accept everything without question. Conscience can be manipulated and thought patterns altered, turning man into a moth that becomes impatient to cremate itself on the flame. The one common aspect of all Islamic terrorists is that they have all attended regular sermons at Mosques; which are scattered all over the globe, therefore they are more easily exposed to the fundamentalist messages.
This display of dogma is also televised on some Arabic and Islamic television stations, enabling radical Sheiks and Clerics to use stations such as Al-Jezeera as a platform for their violent propaganda. They even endorse domestic violence and preach how a husband should beat his wife. The influential Sunni cleric, Sheikh Yousef Qaradhawi, Oct. 5, 1997 appeared on Al-Jezeera (memri.org) giving a detailed account of the hows and circumstances a wife should be beaten.
Jasem Muhammad Al-Mutawah, apparently an expert on family matters in Islam, hosts a show on Saudi Arabia's Iqraa TV (www.memri.org.streamvideo/), in which he says We all know that Allah has given authority to the man, including admonishing and guiding the wife in case of disobedience, banishing her from the bed, and then the beatings. Dr. Muhammad Al-Hajj, lecturer on Islamic faith at the University of Jordan (Amman) who was a guest on the show stating how the Koranic versus instructs discipline on wives says: The issue is who directs this institution (the family) because two people cannot drive a car there must be one driver. Islam has given the wheel of this car, the car of the family to the man!.
This dogmatic method of controlling the people was typical centuries ago when heads of states enforced religion onto their people.
However in 21-century; Theo Van Gogh was no stranger to offending both Christians and Jews in some of the work he had produced, however they did not resort to cold bloodedly murdering the poor man so tragically on the streets, but instead they simply did the civilised deed and made formal complaints. Apart from the odd cult or new age religion, most religions have moved forwards with the changing times, meeting the modern socio-political requirements and expectations that would fuse with the civilised world in order to keep an equilibrium. However there is a great threat to this balance and the world must rapidly take heed of the warning signs. This is not the 16-century anymore, and we cannot simply tolerate any manipulation that threatens the very foundation that the civilised world is based on. There are many young Muslim boys just like Bouyeri who are being prepared to serve Allah through bloodshed because they will earn their place in Paradise where 70 virgins will be waiting! These control tactics have been responsible for many acts of fundamentalist terrorism. If one finds a weak spot, one can control any person and the imams and clerical leaders who are the real perpetrators of this tactical psychological warfare against all infidels, know that they have the advantage in exploiting the vulnerable, just as with the white supremacy groups. If you pull the right strings then youll soon find youve hit a nerve.
Fundamentalism is growing at a rapid rate and Islamo-fascism is spreading even faster. It has now been reported that Hirsi Ali is making the sequel to Submission, in the meantime radical Muslims around the world continue to be told of the evils of non-believers and the modern democratic society. Even infants and children are conditioned to embrace martyrdom as their icon as easily as they might embrace Mickey Mouse. All freedom loving countries must now wake up and realize that yet again, the future of the civilized world is under a great threat that must not be ignored and swept under the carpet any longer. The matter must be an international agenda of the highest priority; otherwise we may see an army of young impressionable Muslim boys who are enticed by some high divine right to dance with the devil by the pale moonlight.

--Omar Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of CAIR (Council of American Islamic Relations), San Ramon Valley Herald, July 1998
"Nearly three years after 9/11, the war on terror is far from over. In fact, a leading terrorism expert argues that despite the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the efforts of the Department of Homeland Security, we're not really any safer at all.
Harvey Kushner, a respected adviser to the FBI, the FAA, the INS, and other government agencies, offers frightening new evidence of a unified Islamic terrorist network that is operating inside the United States and planning new opportunities to strike.
Kushner identifies and assesses the violent plans of these Islamic organizations and individuals who take advantage of our reluctance to engage in ethnic profiling. He supports his claims with never-before-seen documents from top-level government sources, exposing a secret network of Arab intelligence agencies, terrorists, university professors, corrupt imams and other religious leaders, and violent criminals.
Some members of this network are recent immigrants; others have been American citizens for years. Some are laundering money from abroad through seemingly innocuous charities and mosques. Some have even infiltrated our military as Arabic translators and Muslim chaplains..."
Bump.

Death squads that murder the Mosque's imam responsible after a follower commits a terrorist act would make them think twice. They don't advocate their children to "sacrifice" themselves, but are ok with their followers to do so. If they have some skin in the game, they'll think twice about advocating murder and suicide bombing.
This is so darned politically correct that I couldn't manage to finish it. The only villain he can name is Hitler? History is full of villains of similar stature, although it's not politically correct to say so--starting with Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot to take just three recent examples.
But David Koresh? He was unsavory, hypocritical, and exploitative, but it was Janet Reno who burned down the housing complex at Waco and incinerated all those children.
From the little I remember, Koresh was not out to destroy the civilized world. All efforts to blame white America have ruined an otherwise thoughtful piece.
Both of them were nutjobs, but I believe Koresh could have been captured without the violence.
