The Episcopal Church has one last chance to back down from its consecration of an openly homosexual bishop, thereby sparing the worldwide Anglican Communion from a potential split, say conservatives at an Episcopal bishops' conclave this week in Salt Lake City.
The meeting today and tomorrow will deal with the "Windsor Report," a lengthy document issued last fall blaming the nation's 2.2-million-member Episcopal Church for potentially splitting the 70-million-member Anglican Communion over the consecration of V. Gene Robinson.Unless the Americans show some willingness to suspend homosexual ordinations and same-sex blessings, conservative bishops say a showdown is expected next month at a gathering of the world's Anglican archbishops in Ulster, Northern Ireland. In a letter dated Jan. 4, Central Florida Bishop John Howe told fellow bishops there would be a "pastoral disaster" in the church if bishops come up with "an unclear or ambiguous response" to the report.
"Even worse would be for us to create the perception that we are dodging the report altogether or trying to 'buy time' by employing delaying tactics," he wrote.

If we take that "logic" to its ultimate conclusion, then we can look for Vicki Gene to have a sex change operation, and THEN apply to join the AAC..
Now I'm gonna have to go rinse my eyeballs with hydrochloric acid . . . . < g >
Oh look, yet another drop dead date. I'm not holding my breath.
If they are really under the misapprehension that this is even remotely possible, they (the so-called 'conservatives') are so out of touch with reality that they are worse than useless. And I had to work really hard to come up with a comment that charitable for them.
I am curious how they caused problems. The current revisionists seem to be ignoring them or twisting their meaning.
I agree.. Like in @300a.d. when the roman catholic church split from the world wide church to form a cult.. ugh.. denomination.. ugh.. the really real church.. ugh Oh!.. I 've done it now.. LoL...

Interesting, since the canon of scripture all Christians use (even the Episcopalians) use wasn't complete until at least 360ad. Nobody had a *completed* canon of the New Testament as recognized today until that time (And even some of the patristic fathers didn't have the enire listing.)
How can the canon of scripture be trusted since it God gave it throught this "schismatic cult", much later than the claimed dates of the Catholic "apostasy"?(100ad -312ad)
Basically, if the Church went into apostasy from 100-312ad, then you are using a canon delivered through an apostate Church -- no way around this.
All of christianity has to trust the Canon of the New Testament as delivered throught the Roman Catholic church -- there was no other complete canon before the mid to late 300s (there *were* incomplete canons, some were close.)
And, if he Church went scismatic in 300ad, why didn't the Catholic Church in England split off back then? Think about it.
"Works" or following scripture is not what makes you a christian..
Dogma is one of the symptoms of apostasy.. Dogma is the Ju-Ju bag of clergy or witch doctors.. i.e. why Rhema(gk) is spoken of as superior to Logos(gk)... If you know what I mean.. And you "may".. If not then I may be ugh!... be wasting YOUR time.. ;)
