Massachusetts Dem Opposes Roemer DNC Bid
Fox News ^ | January 10, 2005

Posted on 01/11/2005 2:37:03 AM PST by paudio

The chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party said Monday that it would be "extremely foolish" for Democrats to chose someone who opposes abortion rights to lead the party.

Phil Johnston (search), who heads the Democrats in losing presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry's home state, spoke out amid news of former Rep. Tim Roemer's (search) decision to seek the national party's chairmanship.

"The fact that we lost the 2004 presidential race by a narrow margin should not result in the abandonment of our party's core principles," Johnston said.

I don't know, Johnston.A core principle of death doesn't seem real attractive.

The Democrat Party has principles?

It appears the ONLY killing that Liberals are comfortable with, is killing the defenseless babies in their irresponsible woman's wombs.

Gee, it's seems like only last week the Dems were pleading not to be perceived as the pro-abortion party...

Sorta like saying there is a battle for the "soul" of the Democrat Party.

Boys and Girls,

As a life-long Daley Democrat - we're Purple ( red/blue)by the way, it is so tiring to have these same yam-heads lose more national elections for us. Tim Roemer (D) of LaPorte, Indiana, where you can get a great homecooked Polish dinner at the local PCNU, is a real Democrat - Andy Jackson, Harry Truman, Al Smith, & Dick Daley.

The speedo-Dems like Kerry and psychotics like Jesse and Boxer, are not representative of the Democratic Party - they are fringe candidates. They fell into the soup of Roger Baldwin's Commie Nut Job Leftist Icons that keeps getting stirred every four years.

Tim Roemer is the kind of man the DNC needs - he's blue-collar, moral, patriotic, and effective.

Personally, I hope Dean gets it. I'd love to see the Democrat party implode after a big internal fight.

I'd disagree with that. They are all too representative of the Democratic Party, which is why obvious Leftists like McGovern, Mondale, Dukakis, etc. keep winning their party's nomination.

Mike,

Only the ones that get face-time on the tube or invited to Hilary's cocktail parties in the suburbs. Most Dems will vote conservatively on the national level and strongly Democratic at local elections. The fringe fruitcakes have been given way too much attention and we have had too many pacts with the Devil.

The blue collar Americans in the Democratic Party are taking it back. Remember - planned parent-hood, abortion, feminism, and one -worldism had its roots in the Republican Party of the 19th Century. They did not welcome Catholics and lunch-pail Luigis. It was in the 2oth Century that the one worlders and Roger Baldwins emerged to sweep out the cigar smoking immigrant Machines. Now, they call themselves Rainbow Push Coalition Pro Choice Free the Bad Guys Democrats.

Roemer is a good start for a return to the two Party system.

Most Dems will vote conservatively on the national level. . .

Pat, how do you figure? In December of 2003, Democratic voters favored Crazy Howie Dean with 23% support in a nine-person race.

How is that voting conservatively? Regards,

My bloodlines are Irish Catholic. I am descended from a former Detroit mayor in the early 1900's. Most of my family today voted for Bush, especially with a John Kerry type there. 100 years ago, I would have been a Democrat.

That democrat party is dead and I see little chance for new life. It's no longer the party of working families, but it is now the party of rich liberals. Hillary, Ted Kennedy, Hollywood, George Soros, and John Kerry. It is the party of gun grabbers, abortion on demand, trial lawyers, high taxes(where are the blue dogs?), and America hating. John Kerry is the perfect poster boy. The Reagan Democrat is not welcome anymore in that party.

Now I know not ALL democrats support that, but the leadership at the top of the party, as well as the major donors(Soros especially), back it.

In order for the dems to go back to the Jacksonian party of the working man, they will have to spit in the face of the rich liberals that fund the party.

And that I can not see happening anytime soon. I HOPE I'm wrong. However, I don't see Jim Barcia or even Bill Lipinski floated as a major candidate.

On the other hand, there is room for me in the Republican Party(although Illinois has bigger RINO problems). The Bill Millikens(who backed Kerry) and the Lincoln Chafees are losing their pull in that party, while a pro-life gunowner like myself is more and more welcome here.

As I said, I hope I am wrong about the Dems.

But who in that field should they have voted for? Lyndon LaRouche?

Lyndon wasn't in that field. Gephardt, Lieberman, Clark, Edwards, Kerry, Moseley-Braun, Kucinich, and Sharpton were.

Dear Dan,

Me too all the way. I think that there are enough of us to hocker-up for the necessary statement to the 'rich liberals.' People get ignored or talked down to only so much. The problem is regular folks are too damn busy going to work, paying taxes, seeing that their kids are not huffing aeresol products, keeping up the property, paying the bills, and watching their kids go off to war, to get too bothered about ACLU concerns. We've had it at the precinct and ward level. That's where the action is.

When Paul Vallas ran against Blagoeivich for Governor - Paul got blind-sided by Chris Kennedy ( the buck toothed heir to the Merchandise Mart) naturally Kennedy knows nothing about Illinois and poor Paul spent months going to cocktail parties for rich mopes instead of buying a round at Keegan's on Western Ave. Finally, a Democrat/Patriot Jim 'Skinney' Sheahan took Paul by the hand and showed him how it is done. Vallas almost did it - the election was a sqweaker and were saddled with a nit-wit Governor. Paul is saving the Philadelphia school system. It can be done screw the Kennedy's and get out with the people. We are ready to tango. Check out Chicago Sun Times Cartoonist Jack Higgins, a pal and a neighborhood guy he is a pretty good barometer of sentiments of people like us. He goes to Keegans, along with Sheriff Sheahan and Skinney.

God Bless the work!
pat
