Crosses will be banned from this month's inaugural parade in Washington, D.C.
The Jan. 20 presidential inauguration is causing controversy—and religion is at the heart of the strife.
Not only is the phrase "under God" in the president's oath under attack from an atheist who has filed suit to stop any prayers from being said during the ceremony, now crosses have been banned from the inaugural parade.
Critics are calling it religious discrimination and censorship.
The Rev. Patrick Mahoney and the Christian Defense Coalition were granted a permit to hold a prayer vigil and demonstration during the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue on Inauguration Day. In that permit the list of prohibited "structures" includes crosses—along with bicycles, crates, coffins, cages and statues.
Mahoney is outraged.

Why isn't the Pres outraged and why was Kid Rock scheduled to perform??? Surely the Pres isn't going to let down his huge body of support helping his re-election. I just hope he wasn't pandering to us for votes...
Wouldn't it be wonderful to see thousands of crosses along the parade route?
Wonder what the MSM would do if the parade route was lined with people making the sign of the cross, or forming a cross with their fingers. (Considering some of the blood-suckers in the MSM, this could be a good idea anyway...)

What a great opportunity for President Bush to make a statement here. He should take the oath with a cross lapel pin on his suitcoat.
Several years ago, my sister was the valedictorian of her class, and as such was allowed to address the graduation ceremony. She was told by school officials that she was not allowed to make any religious references in her speech.
When the time came she got up at the podium and began her address with the Lord's Prayer. There were some very visibly upset school officials sitting there, lemme tell ya. But my hometown is very Polish Catholic, and those officials didn't dare do a thing. I was highly amused.
They did not, I repeat DID NOT ban the display of crosses.
IF your placard fits the establish guidelines, you may paint crosses or other religious symbols to your hearts content.
What you may NOT do is carry a 12 ft. wooden cross.
There's a big difference here, and it's really disturbing that FOTF has bought into this.

I wonder if they might consider a Catholic observing the parade and wearing a Crucifix to be a lawbreaker? And I guess, the Red Cross volunteers might have to place an ACLU sticker across the cross.

One can paint a cross on your sign, cut a cardboard or foamboard sign into a cross (must be 1/4 inch or less thick) or wear a small cross on a necklace.
You can't bring a cross of wood or other material of a size that it might be used as a weapon. Bringing structures that might be used as weapons is is a serious problem because of leftists' misbehavior. Thus, there are restrictions on signs and other materials that can be brought.
Unfortunately, when the leftists are restricted as to items that can be brought, the same rules MUST apply to all.
If the rule were different, I guarantee that some leftists would pose as religious people and bring three to five foot crosses, which they would then use as weapons against police and pro-Bush parade watchers.
Kid Rock is only going to appear at one of the innaugural balls or parties hosted by the Presidents girls! He won't be performing at the swearing-in program, or the bigger, fancier balls. Good Heaven's no! However, he did support the President, and I suspect that his girls invited him to their own function, to thank him!
Crosses made out of foamboard are OK, so long as they are less than 1/4" thick. Got it.

On graduation evening, once all the kids had taken their seats, one of the kids sneezed. As one voice they all said "GOD BLESS YOU."
My word, I did love that class.
