Man Wants Cash For Finding Soldier's Camera

PHILADELPHIA -- A New Jersey soldier, who is being sent back to Afghanistan for a second tour of duty next week, lost his digital camera at last weekend's Eagles game.

The memory card in the camera had many pictures of the holidays with Spc. Elwood Wrigley's friends and family that he said were very precious to him.

Wednesday night, someone e-mailed NBC 10 to say they found the camera and offered it back, but at a price.

A man identifying himself as Michael Crook said he'd return the holiday photos for $1,000.

Part of the e-mail read: "I would be willing to ensure Mr. Wrigley gets his camera back for a fee. I would say $1,000 would cover it considering his memory stick is so precious to him. It sure looks like this family had a good Christmas."

Crook e-mailed some of the pictures to NBC 10 to see if they were Wrigley's

this has hit the FAN locally. many individuals have agreed to put up the $1,000 - but this jackass doesn't have the right camera anyway.

eagles' kicker david akers bought him a new camera, and gave him a football signed by several players.

The Michael Crook in Lumberton is NOT the perp.

I just talked with Michael Crook in Lumberton and he was totally unaware of this. He knows that there is another Michael Crook in New Jersey and he said that he used to get e-mails for him at work.

Please do not call him as he is not the one referenced in the story.

I would bet that Crook was from Philly. You know, city of brotherly love? City where they have to put a muni court right inside of Veterans stadium to deal with the criminals who attend Eagles games? The Philly where they cheer opposing players being taken off the field on stretchers?

Lovely place. If God doesn't decide on San Francisco as a place to express his wrath next then I'd vote for Philly.
