As President Bush prepares for his second term, Democrats in Washington and around the country are organizing for a year of confrontation and resistance, saying they are determined to block Bush's major initiatives and thereby deny him the mandate he has claimed from his reelection victory last November.
The Democrats' mood and posture represent a contrast to that of four years ago, after Bush's disputed victory over Al Gore. Then, despite anger and bitterness over how the 2000 election ended, Democrats were tentative and initially open to Bush's calls for bipartisan cooperation. Today, despite Bush's clear win over Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.), Democrats across the ideological spectrum say they are united in their desire to fight.
In part that mood reflects the reality that Democrats are even more of a minority party than they were when Bush was sworn in four years ago, their ranks smaller in both the House and Senate and their ability to influence the legislative agenda sharply diminished.

No kidding. I had hope that they were going to be reasonable, after watching a democratic stategist this morning on Fox. After he was done talking, I wasn't too mad. I thought they were starting to try to work for the good of the nation. I guess it was a trick.
So what is everyone's prediction for the 2006 elections?
Next thing you know they might find gambling going on in Las Vegas.

These people have no idea that they lost the Presidential election. I am hearing Kerry talking on nearly every issue lately, from the tsunami to social security reform. I would bet that he is camping out on the White House lawn.

Not to mention seats in both houses but you'd never guess that from their behavior. Their treatment of Alberto Gonzales, especially TK, was disgraceful.

I am sick to death of these hateful, racist, godless, traitorous malcontents! They're a bunch of worthless and malevolent moral reprobates whose only purpose is to make sure everybody else is as miserable as they are.
Like the defenders of the Alamo, the Rats have no choice but to fight to the bitter end. If they don't try to repel the onslought and give up they will die (politically speaking), because they stand no chance of bieng reelected.
Their only chance of survival isby holding out for a two year siege in hopes reinforcements will come by election in '06.
The task of Hassert and of Frisk is to kill or severly wound all the deferders while creating life beyond the Alamo accepptable to those outside.
Just sit back and contemplate the fear. The agony of dieing and being helpless to prevent the onslought. What a pitiful condition.
A better course is surrender by resignation or illness.
The House can't change, because the districts have all been gerrymandered (Ok, it's a long shot that some Black Districts might move GOP).
But I'd bet every Dem Sen from a Red state is gone, and even some of the Dems from Blue states are (please, is Biden up??)
I never thought that the Dems could make me so happy.
