QUOTE: ""...The government of the United States is committed to helping the people who suffer. We're committed today, and we will be committed tomorrow. The outpouring of support from the citizens of our country has been more than heartening."
"Most of you are members of this great organization, the United States Agency for International Development. Some of you are members of non-governmental organizations. All of you are playing an important role in that compassionate response. The world has taken notice, and the American people are grateful."
To date, our government has pledged $350 million in aid; private citizens have pledged approximately $337 million; and our military has spent $40 million to help the earthquake and tsunamis victims.

Dose going up.
Please wait to post or repost photos till the All Clear.
Thanks!
There are some FReepers who are without power and in other ways dealing with very bad weather, and I'm sure they would appreciate those of us who pray, remembering them in prayer.

Prayers for all of you guys in the midst of the floods, the snow, and all that is going on. All we have to deal with here is chill and gloom.

Despite the CBS report, President Bush, who was elected by tsunami-like returns, also remains on the job. LOL! The very thought makes me happy.

...hope everyone had a happy Monday.Good enough given our drippy weather and the fact that my old dog Annabelle had to make an unscheduled trip to the vet today due to the flare-up of a chronic problem. However, in human terms, she's roughly 105 years old, so every day that she wakes up next to my side can never be a bad day.
