Stabbed by friend, still mates
January 10, 2005
A BRITISH man has been jailed for repeatedly stabbing a long lost best friend he had traced via the Friends Reunited website, and the victim still wants to be mates.
Brendan Walsh, 27, nearly killed Noel Duff when he stabbed him seven times in a drunken rage because he mistakenly believed his friend had attacked his sister, Karen, whom Mr Duff had started dating.
However, Walsh immediately became full of remorse and called an ambulance.
Mr Duff was rushed to a hospital where doctors said it was a miracle he had survived a stab wound to the heart.
Walsh, who was sentenced to three years in jail by London's Old Bailey after pleading guilty to wounding with intent, had been a close friend with Mr Duff at school and had met up with him again via the website, later introducing him to his sister.
"The victim is no longer angry at you and the remarkable fact is that (he) even gave evidence on your behalf and said he would like to be friends with you again," Judge David Paget told Walsh, who was cleared of attempted murder.

If this is how he treats his "best" friend, I wonder how he treats his other friends.

Ah, I was the short kid with the big mouth - if I wasn't a nonviolent kind of guy, there might be two or three fellows who'd need to watch their backs ;)

met up with him again via the website, later introducing him to his sister. Good enough to stab, good enough for my sister! Hmm.

There may be no snakes in Ireland but apparently some
reptile behavior persists.
Human aggression is believed to be rooted in the Reptilian brain. Valzelli and Morgese (1981) and Bailey (1987) interpret pathological aggression as a regression to the Reptilian level associated with cessation of the cortical control. This regression can happen under the influence of alcohol ...
