We've had some serious flooding here. Worst since 1920's or so I'm told. Some parts of the white river look more like the mississippi. Can't see the other shore of the river.

It was about as high as I have seen it in 20 yrs here in Indy at the end of last week, which is down in Knox county now. And more rain headed this way over the next few days. Lots of people in Indy have never had water that high before. And thousands are still without power in East Central Indiana from the huge ice storm. I have 2 at Ball State who know more people that didn't have power as of last night than those who did.

That must be frightening. My familiarity with the White River was as the river being a source of odorific pollution many years ago in Indianapolis. It's hard to imagine it getting as wide as the Mississippi.

Lupie, what is going on in Indy? Do they have any clue as to the cause of the explosions downtown? I heard a fox news alert about 10 minutes prior to the Colts game yesterday that another explosion had occurred downtown, and discussions of evacuating the stadium. Then I never heard another word about it. My daughter & her husband live there so I'm a little uneasy about this.

I don't know what is going on with that. I asked my hubby about it and he said he thought it might be related to some transformers or something down there that the water level has affected. There was an article in the paper this morning though that says the power company is down there investigating. The article wasn't even on the front page - but on the front page of the city section. There doesn't seem to be a lot of concern about it - just them trying to figure out why they keep happening. I turned on the news and they are getting ready to talk about it after all these commercials. If there is anything new I will post.

"If it keeps on rainin' the levee's gonna' break.

IF the levee breaks, momma you got no home."

I went to Shoals yesterday, VERY high there. It is almost an island.
