Civil disobedience, I love it! LOL I hope they have deep pockets, though. From what I read, those fines can really stack up quickly.

We have a friend who is a smoker in Italy. They smoke anywhere they please. Even under No Smoking Signs. They smoke. LOL!

LOL. It helps when the people who are supposed to enforce the ban have no intentions of doing so. :)

Many Europeans have told me restrictions on smoking are far more repressive here. In fact, one person said, "all the Freedom you have here in America and you can't smoke anywhere." With this latest development in italy, it appears Europe is catching up.

I used to go to Mexico a lot on business, and not the border towns, the interior. In certain aspects, they have way more rights than the US. You can walk into an establisment with a lighted cigarette, no questions asked. unless they've been bought off since 2001.
