NEWSFLASH
We already know Michael Moores Fahrenheit 911 will win "Favorite Picture" at the People's Choice Awards tonight. But Passion for Fairness can confirm that The Passion of The Christ will win BEST DRAMA at tonights Peoples Choice Awards. And Mel Gibson WILL attend the ceremony.
Red and Blue America does battle aga
The awards show is still disingenuous. They put "The Passion" in there only as a means to blunt the barrage of criticism they will no doubt receive for giving the high honor to Michael Moore.
Ping.
nor does it matter what they think of Michael Moore--or
anything else they are so passionatly decieved about.
I would disagree. This is an important gauge of the struggle that is going on for the collective soul of our nation. It's not about a movie winning an award. It's about good winning out over evil in American hearts and minds.
There is a contest going on. It is the same contest that has gone on ever since man first woke up to the nature of God and the fact of sin in the world.
Well, it's a recognition and that's good.
Passion of the Christ bump!
Catholic Ping - please freepmail me if you want on/off this list
Who here didn't like the Passion?
I ran right out and got a copy when they first went on sale.
Watched and said now that I've seen it I have no desire to see it again.
My brother bought my Mom a copy for Christmas and I watched it with her and her reaction was the same. Didn't want to watch it again. Actually she turned away many times and asked that I tell her when it was over.
"It", being the blood. Too much blood!
It is very hard to watch, no doubt. But, worth it for the believer, to try and picture how much He endured for us...
I'm glad to see that Mel Gibson is attending the ceremony. He's been kind of a recluse since "The Passion" came out.
But I'm also disguisted to see F 9/11 winnning "Best Picture." The people have spoken and they chose Dubya over Michael Moore. Usually, they have a Gallup-type poll but this year it was an online vote. We all know how good liberals are at flooding those online polls. When I saw the list of nominees for best picture "The Passion of the Christ" was not listed. What a bunch of crock.
Absolutely right... we'll take the recognition.
Because we've got to start imposing our values on Hollywood. I'm sick of it being the other way around.
Also, the People's Choice awards are done by voting/surveying of the general public. Last year by Gallup survey, this year by online vote. What's helping Moore is that no one has really seen the films that the critics and other small groups are picking. While his film didn't do Passion numbers, it still did much better than the this year's batch of contenders, many of whom have barely been seen outside of LA and NYC.
I'll give the People's Choice organizers credit -- they know that plenty of Moore and Gibson will deliver controversy AND ratings. ABC can only hope that the Academy delivers both films for Best Picture nominations in a few weeks.
I don't believe I can watch it again. And I don't know if the proper question is if it's a movie one can "like." The blood wasn't the problem; I've seen a great many films with more blood. For me, it's the agony that Christ went through that I can't see again.
The People's Choice Awards are voted on by the people -- meaning us -- you and me and others. Therefore, it's the only one that has any relevance. It is NOT an industry award. All the other award shows are industry awards, where they pat themselves on the back endlessly -- Oscars, Tonys, Emmys, etc etc etc.
An Internet poll?????? Give me a break. It's meaningless.
That's right. Though, Mel Gibson would probably say the movie doesn't need any recognition from Hollywood anyway.
Did you really believe that a bunch of Hollywierd sicko's would who have supported the far left have any inkling of what they are talking about?? Anyone that would give Michael Moore anything but a Match to burn his trashy movie
is of questionable character or just stupid!
Hollywierd is a Porncapitol, always taking it beyond any sense of decency or common sense. It's a cesspool! Very few really decent movies make it through to the public. Once or twice a year, but you can bet it will always have a little twist or dig at God or anything that is decent.
What a nation -
Actually mooreon made a public appeal to his kook base to skew the voting.
Most Bush voters, IMO, aren't interested in the People's Choice awards.
I'm like you. I saw it once and was moved more than any other movie I've ever seen. However, I didn't go see it again and I bought the DVD months ago and haven't watched it yet.
