I try to stay atop the news and somehow this issue slipped past me. The Dems have brought up a very troubling issue before the House and Senate. They accused the Republican party of committing fraudulent acts that allowed George Bush to win this election. They stood up one after the other and claimed that this election was stolen.
I caught a part of this on C-span. I wasn't aware of any fraudulent claims in this election since it was clear that the President won this election by an overwhelming majority. I sniffed around and found a link to the inquiry led by Rep. Conyers (D). I read this document and discovered an alarming fact. By all appearances, our party did committ fraud in this election. It looks as if we suppressed votes and intentionally altered ballot totals to produce a result which favored our party. It shows that the Sec. of State Blackwell was the orchestrator of this fraud. It shows a great many things... but it proves nothing.
This document is nothing but innuendo and circumstantial evidence. There is no basis for a challenge and there was no call to object to the certification of this vote. That puzzled me. Why would the Dems challenge the vote and then not follow through with a formal challenge?
Is it because they do not want to risk civil war? No.
Is it because they don't want to hurt the war effort? No
Is it because they know that they are outnumbered? Yes.
They have no chance at a challenge. Our party rightly holds the power of all three branches of government. Our party took on this responsibility when it became clear that the Democrats were intent upon ruining this country. Our party has done more for this country in 4 years than they have in the past 50 years.
If you read the Conyers document, a clear case of fraud has been laid out. The proof is lacking but the conclusions you draw from this information are pretty damning. It looks bad. That was my first reaction. In fact, I was a bit outraged. I then sat down and tried to put this in perspective.
For arguments sake, let's say that we did "rig" this election. Let's say that our party did everything that they say we did. Okay, we fixed an election. So what?
If we did fix this election it was only because it was broken. Look at the facts. The media is biased against our party. We have no way of even getting out our message through the the most trusted means by which information is relayed. How does this constitute a fair and balanced playing feild? This is fraud.
They used our war of Freedom and Democracy in Iraq as a weapon of mass deception. Everyday, the only news reported out of Iraq is dead Americans soldiers and dead Iraqi babies. This not only continued through our election process, it intensified. Every day they used intimidation to try and control the vote. They used the prisoner scandal to say that the President was a monster. They even tried to claim that Iraq was not linked to Al-Qeada when it is clear that there is a definite link between Zaquari and Bin Laden. Do you believe this link just sprung up over night? No, Zaquari was there before this war and they know it but still lied.
They used the heroes of Democracy and Freedom as a tool to further thier misguided goals. They tried to say we were criminals for invading Iraq and freeing millions of people. They tried to impune our soldiers with lies and suggestions of inhumane treatment, "torture". For me, a Democratic President is torture, you could snap a picture of my face if Kerry won and see torture. They painted us a monsters and asked the people to consider this when people voted! They had only lies to base thier decision. The people began to believe we were monsters. What rational person would vote for monsters? This was the Democratic con-game, this was a fraud.
They used registration drives to cover the real fraud. The real fraud wasn't done by us. The real fraud was the "get-out-the-vote" registration campaigns they ran. They recruited thousands of people to go into inner city areas to scare the hell out of the millions of Negroes and poor. They went in and set up a gigantic psycological campaign. They told these people that the reason they are poor and the reason they are ignorant is George Bush. They didn't tell them the truth. They used lies and terror to goad these unfortunates to sign up and vote in record numbers. The success of this campaign was unparralled in history. The problem is, this is fraud. A lie is a fraud. A fraud is a lie. They go hand in hand. One begets the other. When they go in and tell people who do not participate in our country that this time, they Vote or Die? What manner of Democracy is this? This is them saying, vote for us or Die. This is fraud because it is a lie that furthers thier goal of stealing an election.
If we did perpetrate fraud, though it has not been "proven", it was only to offset the fraud that they tried to perpetrate on the American people and on our Democracy. Republicans are the educated, the indepentdant, the powerful and the strong. A Republic is not about the will of the people, this is not even a constitutional right. A Republic is a government that protects people and the common good in the name of the people. Those who choose to participate should be able to understand the complex decisions that affect our country. To shepard the ignorant and goad them into supporting something that they do not understand is more than a fraud, it's a crime. If we did committ "fraud", I, for one, am glad. Thank God, someone has the balls to finally stand up and let our voices, the voices of compassion and reason, lead this country into the future. In this world we need people who are willing to win at all costs, even cheating if necessary. We are in a war, in case the Dems forgot. What sort of leader do you think will inspire fear in the hearts of other nations, a person who wins at all costs or a person who loses by virtue? They know that they have finally come against someone who will rip the very foundation out from underneath them if they stand in our way. Isn't that the message they need to be getting?
If we did rig this election, and there is no evidence at all to support this claim, I would like to say a big thank you for those patriots who risked thier lives, thier fortunes and thier freedom to further our cause. You are true Americans and I salute you! All men are created equal but with God's grace, we do not have to stay that way! Long live George Bush! God bless the Republic.

Exactly. If any republican did what the dems are doing, I'd want it investigated and the laws upheld. Sidenote..... My kid is going to Iraq in a couple weeks.

I wish your kid the best!!! It isnt completely horrible up there, but if he says positive, remembers his training and listens to his NCOs and those who have already been there, he will do just fine.
This is like what is happening at Ohio State for me. I hope they didnt do anything, but if they did, I want them to get nailed for it.

It's a very wise idea to read alot before posting. So many people here that are really smart. Most of us follow politics on a regular basis. Coming here, brand new, writing an opinion piece (vanity) as a newbie and not forming your sentences clearly sends a red flag to all of us. We get hit by trolls (libs prenting to be conservatives) many times per day. It's better if you'd post your comment on an existing thread at first, get the feel for the place. Welcome aboard. Hope you're sincere, I can't afford beer bets too often..... Oh, and watch the language, we try to keep this place fairly clean.
