BAGHDAD [MENL] -- The U.S.-led coalition believes it has been whittling the command structure of the most lethal Islamic insurgency group in Iraq.

U.S. officials said the military has captured several key leaders of the Tawhid and Jihad group led by Abu Mussib Al Zarqawi. They said the detainees were identified as leading aides of Al Zarqawi, whom the United States regards as the most lethal insurgent in Iraq.

According to the MSN, the insurgency is able to strike at will with plenty of human fodder willing to make it happen. I see no reason to disagree until we get more real like this.

The terrorist leader captured alone will leave the bottom to be promoted, but with the tactical level destroyed, the whole organization will be a mess. I hope the capture of terrorist tactical leaders will lead to the decline of attacks and victory for the US.

Elections in Iraq, 21 days and counting down. Expect more viciousness from the terrorists but look for retribution once Iraq is a sovereign democratic state.

Saddam Hussein will be put on trial; trials of those rounded up will follow. I hope the new Iraqi justice will be swift.

As a US taxpayer, I say "send in those US Special Forces DEATH Squads" to take
out of as many as possible of Zarqawi's fellow-travelers IMMEDIATELY.

That will have a number of substantive benefits:
1. Iraqis will be safer when they bravely go to the polls in January 2005
2. We might capture Zarqawi, enabling us to march that "paper-hanging son
of a b-tch" down Pennsylvania Avenue during Dubya's Second Inauguration.

Heck if that happens, I might be at least momentarily diverted from b-tchin' about
@$$hole doctor/lawyer/atheist-nutjob Michael Newdow and his push to
BAN free speech about religion from the Inaugural.

(Hey Newdow...If you're lurking...don't be shocked when we re-awaken from the
Inauguaral bacchanalia...your days as a solo censor of the nation are
gonna' run out real freakin' soon!)
