Withdrawing Ukraine troops from Iraq priority, Yushchenko says

Posted: Sunday January 9,2005 - 11:02:59 am

KIEV (AFP) - The winner of Ukraine's presidential vote Viktor Yushchenko said that withdrawing the nation's troops from Iraq will be a priority for him once he takes office, after an accidental blast killed seven Ukrainian soldiers there.

"Viktor Yushchenko sends deep condolences to the families of Ukrainian peacekeepers who died in Iraq Sunday," said a statement released by his press office late Sunday.

"Insofar as withdrawing Ukraine's peacekeeping contingent from Iraq, it remains one of Yushchenko's priorities once he assumes office," the statement said.

The seven Ukrainian troops, along with one Kazakh soldier, died after a bomb they were about to defuse went off accidentally in Iraq's central Wasit region, where Ukrainian and Kazakh troops serve under Polish control, Kiev's defense ministry said.

Another seven Ukrainian and four Kazakh troops were injured as a result of the accident, which occurred at 12:05 pm after a team of Kazakh sappers and their Ukrainian backup had brought back for defusion some 35 aerial bombs that Iraqi police had found stashed near the central military base of As Suwayrah.

After the bombs were unloaded from their transport vehicles one of them exploded for reasons that are still being investigated, the ministry said.

Some 1,600 Ukrainian troops have been deployed since August 2003 in Iraq's Wasit region where US-led coalition forces are under Polish command.

Prior to Sunday's deaths, Ukraine has lost nine of its troops, with another 20 injured.

In the heat of Ukraine's election saga in December, parliament in Kiev approved a resolution that demanded outgoing President Leonid Kuchma withdraw Ukrainian soldiers from Iraq.

"We will consult our allies before we decide anything however.
Priority one is the free exercise of democracy, not continuing a foreign presence where we are transferring power to the indigenous people.

Ukraine gets to vote, Iraq gets to vote--it's that "endowed by their Creator" principle." "Priority one is the free exercise of democracy" Thank you

That's a tough one. Greek and Aramaic were the earliest languages and Constantine accepted it as the state religion of the Eastern Empire. Some of the Roman emperors toyed with the idea of conversion.
Actually, there were more influences in the early church from dioceses to dioceses. What helped build the Roman Church over the other sects was the piggybacking on the old Roman Empire. Right place, right time.
There was also the viciousness of the early Greek church. St. Cyril the Bulgar Slayer, inventor of the Cyrillic alphabet is one example. They would also have this adaption of convert or die, they would use convert, then die. This would guarantee there would be no backsliding into old ways.
You got the sin concepts part and free will from the Romans. You got the concept of the Trinity from the Greeks.

But old outdated Cold-War emotions and religious hatred of Eastern Orthodox can be easily manipulated.

Still, I don't want to be on the side of the communists who have tried to kill him, it looks like repeatedly. We can't influence everything, everywhere. Pax Americana, like everything, has its limits.

Lets see, France and Germany demanded and Poland and Hungary complied by withdrawing. Ok, their members of the EU Fascists club. Now wanna be members Ukraine and Bulgaria are leaving, but hay, they support the EU and thus the "West" so this is good for America, right? How? Well we get to bleed more while they sit and pick at us along with the rest of the Franco-Germanic-Spanish "West".

The point I have taken from FReeper support of Yushchenko over Yanukovych was that Yanukovych tried to steal the election via stronghand and other methods typical of old Stalinist Communists and modern era USA Democrats. You overstate your argument.

Just like people supported Powel, Mr. Popularity without knowing what he stood for. Thankfully he didn't run for president and we all got to see him in action in the State Department, enough to say "no thanks".

You do realize no one has ever been recorded as dieing from Dioxine. Oh it makes you look aweful, and it's a good vote getter but it doesn't kill, at least not for years. The highest recorded case was in Viena in a factory, the woman had 40% more then Yushchenko. If you want to kill someone Cynaide or Ricen are much better.

"Viktor Yushchenko said that withdrawing the nation's troops from Iraq will be a priority for him once he takes office..."

Yushchenko just put to lie *all* of the propaganda that you've been hearing about how it was "the U.S." intefering with the Ukraine's election. Clearly, the U.S. isn't going out of its way to swing allied power away from our Iraq coalition.

What you heard about U.S. interference was a lie. It was a *calculated*, professional lie that was designed to throw the blame off of Germany and France.

It was Germany and France that interfered in the Ukraine's election. Germany imports 75% of its oil and gas through the Ukraine, and those Russian contracts are now essentially in the hands of Yushchenko...who will go on to use them to buy his way into the EU.

In this manner, Germany has just trumped Russia over those energy contracts. Without those energy contracts, Russia now has very little leverage over Germany. This puts Germany in the driver's seat for control of greater Europe.

Likewise, France gets the Ukraine out of Iraq with their successful election interference in the Ukraine. Moreover, France can now move to bring the Ukraine into the new EU military to go hand in glove with France's plan to kill NATO.

Thus, these political machinations will kick the U.S. out of Europe (NATO is almost dead now) and will keep Russia on the back bench.

Of course, I told you this LONG before it all happened; it's not that big of a secret...it's just that this sort of thing isn't going to show up in any newspapers any time soon.

But Yushchenko has already tipped his hand, and it wasn't to show a pro-U.S. gesture to the world, now was it?! Ukraine will now withdraw from Iraq, just as France and Germany had schemed all along.

I wasn't refering to you. If you are GROM or any Polish military, you are military. I was referring to Luskoz and the other 2, at least 2 of whom admitted to working for the EU directly.

This is exactly what I have been saying. Yushchenko's pro Westerness has nothing to do with the Anglo West of America/England/Italy/Australia (note I'm not referring to ethnic nationalities but political outlooks) and everything to do with the Franco-Germanic-Spanish "West".
