what size bullets does it shoot?
The round that pistol fires is one of THE BEST penetrators there is in a handgun round. It is also fairly peppy. I don't like the switches and levers it sports, but it is certainly a robust piece.
Get a lot of ammo and shoot it a lot.
My Brother has two and one has a 9mm conversion barrel. It raises some interesting possibilities for reloading heavy 9mm with the bullet seated farther out than normal as the magazine would work better with longer overall length cartridges.
I read an article in the American Rifleman, a few years ago. One thing which caught my attention was that the Czech ammo was 20% hotter than Russian which was already pretty hot. In other words these pistols are extremely strong.
I wish I knew a source for the Czech ammo. I once had a brand new one and wish now I hadn't sold it.
7.62x25mm
Bump for "Firearms Fun".
LOL...
A 38 Super conversion would make more sense...
A few years ago, I was talking to one of the instructors at the Treasury school near Brunswick, GA. He told me they had fired the CZ-52 with Czech loads at a bullet proof vest, (I don't recall the level) and they went right through it.
dry fired is when you shoot it with no bullets in it.
The firing pin on this thing is cast iron and fragile and can break but you can buy an aftermarket pin that wont break for like 8 bucks
A .38 super would be a great cartridge for it, but I suspect it would require new mags as that semi-rimmed cartridge case would probably not fit or feed in the original mags.
