This is yet another example of the liberal double standard.

Imagine the outrage if the shoe was on the other foot.

It took me a little awhile to be able to articulate this, but I've got it:

You should only find that comic strip offensive, if you are stupid enough to go out jogging in the snow, half-naked, and you happen to be white.

Otherwise, you too can laugh at that crazy white guy.

The "Cartoon" is very racist. If it were objective, the two kids standing there would have said something else to convey their opinion of the stupid jogger. "Yuppies" or "Liberals” or maybe just "Moron” but to include the entire white race in their derisive remark is indeed racist.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

There are alot more important things to worry about then racial double standards in the media my friend.

One of the key reasons that white folk are generally more successful than black folk in this world is that we don't have a tendency to whine and complain at every perceived racial or personal slight.

It's funny that I just finished remarking to my husband about the Boondocks cartoon before I got on the computer and the first post I saw was yours. My husband's response was that it's just a stupid racist cartoon.

I think the cartoon is kinda funny.

Yes, if the positions were reversed there would be black people complaining about racism, but in that case the problem would be the black people's perceptions, not the cartoon itself. Why should we (as white people) then duplicate the same problem and complain about racism where none probably exists? No need for us to sink to the Jesse Jackson level.

It’s funny that two words written by McGruder could invoke white people to stereotypically post 150+ messages, beating the two words into the ground. Maybe an occasional sting helps us to not behave like McGruder in reverse, though I doubt that was the cartoonist's intention. Like the cigarette manufacturers used to use cartoons to reach the young, he tries to use simple single panel cartoons to plant the seeds of victimhood into the next generation of Democrats.

Oh, the shame of it.
Black people talking about white people. Next we will have white people talking about black people.
Wouldn't that be something?

The real Racism here is that a black Cartoonist is allowed to do this, while a white Cartoonist would be ostracized. It is the same old song, a black man is not capable of racism becasue he has been oppressed, while all white men are automatically racists becaue they are oppressors.

Fortunately, this is only the Leftist Socialist view and not the Conservative or even mainstream view. There are millions of black people who know that all whites are not automatically racists. And they know there are many racist black people. Even many who are aware of dark-skinned black vs. light-skinned black racism.

But the Leftist Socialists in the MSM keep singing the same old song, and that is why a black Cartoonist gets away with what a white Cartoonist could never do these days, without a maelstrom of protest and boycott threats. Just imagine a cartoon of 2 white children in front of a fan drining tall lemonaids and watching a black jogger running in 120-degree heat, saying "black people" and see the firestorm of protest from Jesse Jackson and the black fascist elite.

My question is simply....

When did cartoons stop being funny? I know there are a few out there, God rest Charles Shultz's soul.

I must be missing something. I see nothing racist about this cartoon. As a matter of fact it's not even that funny.

What is racist about this cartoon? It in no way is offensive to white people it mearly points out a cultural difference and the authors view on this difference (even if it is his misunderstanding of a white man jogging in the snow its not racist).people from diffrent cultures are different to say these differences don't exists would be ignorant and to ignore them wont make them go away.I can't believe that some of you could even compare a picture of a white man jogging to black kids with guns, beers or robbing some one. I find the fact that you think those equate to one another is racist

While trying to keep abreast of current events and politics, I grow weary of having to endure the consistent din of folks blaming one another of being racist. I am aware that a limited degree of “racism” is present in our society, but this cartoon is not an example of that racism. I’m sure a great many of us, regardless of our ethnicity, can find the humor in this piece. Face it; it’s funny.

To compare the scenario of a couple of black guys poking fun at a white guy for jogging in the snow to the scenario of couple of white guys jabbing a black guy for swilling a forty ounce on a work day is a deliberately tilted contrast. Don’t drink that Kool-aid. Instead, let’s imagine a cartoon in which a bunch of black guys are playing basketball in the snow, and a white guy mutters, “Black people…”, that’s funny. Get it? Jogging, funny; basketball, funny; drinking in public, not funny.

Some of the stereotypes about each of us are based in truth, and most are not harmful. White guys dress up like Lance Armstrong and ride $1,200.00 bicycles on their lunch breaks. There really are more fried chicken joints in black neighborhoods. Chinese guys drink tea. College kids wear baseball caps. Only women leave a half doughnut in the box, and Indians smell vaguely of curry. If this sort of stereotyping really appalls you, then you are far too uptight.

All too frequently, amid a torrent of serious news issues, there is a childish cry of racism such as this. I am reminded of a bunch of ill-behaved children: “He called me a poopy-head!” “yeah, but he called me a bum-bum!”.

I suggest that we get over it.

Where there exists a systemic, organized, or legally sanctioned plan or public policy to keep any group of people “down”, then there is a problem. When black people were enslaved, denied the right to vote, to own property, etc… there was a problem. Blacks in America today have their constitutional rights. Should they be denied these rights again, I will march beside them in protest, as I believe most of white America would. I don’t believe that day will come.

Much of the social and economic disparity between black and white America stems from the pandering of the Democrats. Democratic doctrine, once virtuous, has run its course, its objectives achieved. Since that period (around the early seventies?), the party has become downright socialist, slowly adopting a new philosophy, no longer of constitutional equality, but of socio-economic equality. Their new message; “you are at a great deficit, and can not thrive without our help”. This is simply nonsense. It is an undermining and negative message that assumes black folks are not capable. I assure you, they don’t need a hand out, or a hand up. If each of our taxes were lowered, and the handouts curtailed accordingly, we would shortly see a powerful class of black
Americans engaging in countless enterprises to scoop up their share of the ensuing private sector spending. This is the only sure way to reach the state of economic equality that blacks in America deserve. Low taxation made the U.S. a very successful country (very quickly) for the whites, and it would do so for blacks as well.

To my mind this is a truly serious race discussion, and this is the type of dialogue that our country needs. We will not benefit from the whining and finger-pointing of overly sensitive hot-heads.
