I have been following the smoking bans by the City Councils around Minnesota for several years. Maine Health Coalition seems to be cut from the same cloth that Minnesota uses.
They have MPPAT and Maine has PTFM. (Partnership for a Tobacco Free Maine).
Even though I would really miss smoking, I wish for one week, that all the states would pull tobacco off of the shelves for just ONE week. It would be fun just to stand on the outside and watch the civil war. Can you imagine??? Think about it!
You mean you think the anti-smokers would become violent when their shakedown money stops?
We know this is impossible, since they're superior in every way to mere mortals.
Would it also be fun to cover the taxes smokers pay that the gov would have to get somewhere else, namely from your pocket?
I CAN imagine. These government officials tout "reducing the number of teen smokers" and "second hand smoke is harmful" as reasons, neither of which is true.
In the NE, at least, a lot of homes, bought or rented, have no smoking rules. This is crazy, you pay for your home and can't smoke in it? Invasion of privacy or what?? They don't have no drug use or no alcohol use policies!
I would be more interested in seeing what happens to their tax revenue if they pulled all the tobacco products off the shelves .
