Linda Tripp Visits City For Nuptials
Winchester Star ^ | January 8, 2004 | F.C. Lowe

Winchester continues its reputation as a wedding mecca in Virginia.

Linda Tripp, who caught the nation's attention during the Monica Lewinsky episode of President Clinton’s second term, came to the Winchester Circuit Clerk’s office to obtain a marriage license Dec. 30.

“I asked her if she was THE Linda Tripp and she said yes,” reported Will Gardner, deputy clerk of the court.

“I was curious about how many people could have that name,” Gardner said. He didn’t recognize her physically but did remember the name when he was typing up the license.

Gardner said she seemed a little anxious once he asked about her identity.

Both bride and groom, Dieter Hermann, were cordial to the staff at the clerk’s office and wished them a happy holiday before trekking across the street to the Valley Wedding Chapel at 201 E. Boscawen St.

Gary Patterson,co-owner of the chapel for 10 years with his wife, Sherry, did not recognize her nor the name. When he took the license to the clerk’s office, they told him who she was.

“When they brought it my attention, I thought ‘Wow.’”

She looked familiar to Patterson but he couldn’t figure out where he had seen her before.

The couple really wanted to get married and said they were in love, Patterson added.

“They came walking up when I was putting the closed sign on the door and asked if they were too late,” Patterson said.

They purchased the “stripped-down” model, $30 wedding, that takes about three minutes, Patterson said. There were no pictures and no one else came with them.

The couple said they will have a religious ceremony later in the year.

Sherry Patterson also didn’t recognize Tripp or even the name. “I write so many names that hers didn’t click.”

Sherry is planning an all out campaign to get celebrities to come to the chapel to be married. With the services available here for private planes, she feels it would be a great location for those wanting a quick marriage.

“We’re contacting a publicist in Beverly Hills to sell the idea of coming to Winchester to be married,” Sherry said.

I am not so naive to think that if the last President was bumping people off then the current one won't be.

If the former short order cook at the local diner was killing people, I am not so naïve to think that the new short order cook will not be killing people as well.

That’s some astoundingly silly logic there.

How wonderful! Best wishes to Linda, the only one from the Impeachment to actually get in trouble. She dared to tell the truth about Bill Clinton.

A short order cook is not the powerful job in the entire world though.

Silly logic.

I support Bush because of his Foreign policy not because I think he is capable doing of no wrong.

It seems bizarre that one President committed so many murders and yet you will not even consider Bush or his associates would do a similar thing.

That has nothing to do with it. Your post said essentially that "if you believe Clinton had political enemies killed, you have to believe Bush had people killed."

Are you saying the position itself requires the office holder to kill his political opponents? That's absolutely absurd.

No I said you should consider the possibility.

I am saying that in a position of such power it should not be that unexpected.

How do explain your horrible manners in trashing a thread about our friend's wedding?

............................................................

No. I have not said it was a pre-requisite to taking up office.

This was originally brought up when I asked why Bush had not brought Clinton to account for these murders he is alleged to have killed.

All I have said is that it would not be a outrageous thing to say that at this high an office (THE HIGHEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD) that murder would not be that strange.

I am right in thinking she pretended to be her friend, lied to her then told all to the authorities that be? Sounds like a great person.

You aren't from DU are you?

I have not trashed this thread I have merely asked questions and gotten answers.

I have also changed my opinion on some topics.

Is this not what FreeRepublic is about?

Am I wrong to ask questions and ask to be informed?

No I said you should consider the possibility.

No, you didn’t. You said it would be naïve to believe that if Clinton killed people Bush didn’t, as if killing political opponents was part of the job description. Here, in your own words, is what I was responding to:

I am a Bush supporter but I am not so naive to think that if the last President was bumping people off then the current one won't be.

Now you’re backtracking, perhaps because you’re starting to realize it was an idiotic statement. Your new statement is equally absurd:

I am saying that in a position of such power it should not be that unexpected.

Of course it should be “unexpected”! If it is ever proven, against any public office holder, they should be tried, and if convicted, they should be executed. The absolute bare minimum that should be “expected” of a politician is that the don’t kill their political opponents. Are you living in 1920s Russia?

All I have said that it would not surprise me.

Apparently you think Politicians are whiter than white.

I have not said Bush or Clintons have killed people.
I have just said that it would not a completely insane thing to consider, JUST TO CONSIDER.

I have not made any allegations. I have said that it would remain a very minute possibility.

I do get annoyyed when I ask questions or take opinions and get called a troll and told I am playing games when most of the time I jsut need a little information to change or alter my opinion. ,p>

Did you live in a cave with no outside news during that time? I can't get to your profile page from this site, but if you were a freeper during that time you would have had all the information you wanted. I think you are putting on a false front.
