After more than a decade of drug abuse, Darren Zigas is now facing what could be seen as the expected consequences of his methamphetamine addiction: prison time, alienation from friends and family, and a rap sheet filled with convictions for assault, terroristic threats and burglary.
But, at 32 years old, he's also facing another consequence: a lifetime without a tooth in his mouth.
As the number of regular users of the illegal drug methamphetamine has increased, so has a peculiar set of dental problems linked to the drug, a phenomenon appropriately named "meth mouth." Symptoms include gum disease, broken and cracked teeth, and tooth decay.
Zigas' condition was so bad that he once bit into a peanut butter sandwich and teeth were left in the bread. In June 2002, malnourished and down to 150 pounds, he had the rest of his remaining teeth pulled.

I wonder if methmouth shares symptoms with sh*thead.
The dentures, too, crumble, fragment and fall out. It is not limited to the natural teeth.
If that's the case, I can't even imagine what it does to one's insides!

There is a poster in the HHS offices here in OK of a woman who is a meth user. She looks fresh and young in the first picture and gradually deteriorates to a shrunken toothless hag after only 6-8 years. It's quite chilling.
What's most pitiful is that people think it will NEVER HAPPEN TO THEM, and willfully abuse drugs despite the mountains of evidence proving their destructiveness.
Eeew. I always wondered about those Mountain Dew drinkers.

Crack users lose teeth rapidly also.
On the plus side, prisoners without teeth probably find that they can provide "special services" to the local thugs ... services that literally save their asses.
Even though I won't eat for a week after reading your post, at least I'll be laughing all the while!
FYI, no I didn't ask or inquire. The pimp just sort of hassled me as I was walking and told the score -- including the "special talent" the fat old whore developed because she lacked teeth...
Add another week of starvation coupled with laughter.
