Since when is "Gittin' it done," a bad thing??"
He forgot the "stingy" part.
The bitching commences...not from the survivors, but from our pals in the UN.
Complaining about the troops not spending enough time on ground taking what, a Christmas List? Jeez, they are rushing because there are so many people to help and so many places to stop---what is this UN fool doing?
Oh yeah, his first job is to bash America, then, help the people---now I get it---
How would he like it if they just left.
"They don't stop their engines. They're on the ground for five minutes," Elmquist told reporters in the provincial capital of Banda Aceh, on the hard-hit northern tip of Sumatra.
About all the UN ever does is assess the situation. Move aside, weasel-boy, and let the doers take over.

It is a good thing that Dan Rather is wearing a snap-link. I am sure that will come in handy.
TSUNAMI -- Delivering aid stymies UN
As news media are increasingly dominated by footage of US, Australian and regional military forces actually delivering aid to stricken survivors of the Boxing Day tsunami, UN officials are carping about housing in major cities far removed from the front lines and passing around elaborate business cards.
What Elmquist is really bitching about is that the Americans are delivering the goods and leaving before he and the other corrupt Indonesian political officials can get there with their TV crews and stand out in front of all that aid and take credit for it!
We'll leave the assessing to the UN. The US and a few others will get the job done before the UN assessment is in full swing.
It's a simple plan, really:
Get 'r done
The UN is the biggest scammer of all.
Bush should just tell these UN whiners to STFU.
"The U.N. official coordinating relief efforts on Sumatra island complained Thursday that the U.S. military's aid mission was failing to coordinate and provide critical information to other relief organizations struggling to help survivors of the tsunami.
Michael Elmquist said that while American helicopters were speeding relief supplies to villages isolated by the Dec. 26 disaster, their crews were not spending enough time on the ground to assess survivors' needs.
"They don't stop their engines. They're on the ground for five minutes," Elmquist told reporters in the provincial capital of Banda Aceh, on the hard-hit northern tip of Sumatra."
UNgrateful
I'm getting really, really tired of the UN. I say it's time to start withholding dues again. Hit 'em in the pocketbook.
What's Danny boy Rather there for? He must have gotten a good lead on those forged documents that traces back to Indonesia. Good old Dan, always on the case! Maybe he can find out where all the water came from while he is there.
No sir, that memo you have claiming the Bush administration caused the tsunami is a clear forgery.
A question on the UN diplomat training test:
When you come across a group of desperate, starving refugees you should:
(a) immediately provide them with food and water, flying as many rescue missions per day as possible.
(b) stop and ask the refugees what their needs are, and then write up their answers in a memo. Translate the memo into a few languages and mail it back to the offices in Switzerland. Plan on scheduling a committee meeting to discuss the memo, and the needs of the refugees when you return to your office.
Where do they find these UN idiots?
So get your A$$ in gear, go find out what they need then report back so that they can get what is needed. In other words DO SOMETHING!!! If you have enough time to stand around and looking at what other people (nations) are/are not doing then you are not doing YOUR JOB!!!!
He may actually be too busy to read his email (I would hope so) but just in case anyone has some useful suggestions for Mr. Elmquist his email address is:

Fake caribiner Dan. Hope he doesn't use that fake caribiner to "Anchor" himself.
