The First Panel, who will present Mr. Gonzales to the Committee, the Senate, and the nation consists of Senator Cornyn (Rep., Texas), and Senator Salazar (Dem., Colorado). Senator Cornyn is an obvious choice as he is a Republican, quite conservative, and from Mr. Gonzales' home state. On the other hand, Senator Salazar is a Democrat (who just was elected to the senate in November) and from Colorado. He also is the highest ranking Hispanic to be elected to office.

Leahy and the Liberals and the UN need terrorists to be held pursuant to the Geneva Convention. That is the only way they (Libs) have any reason for complaint.
