I'm not sure how the hierarchy works, but judging from what I've seen at a couple of the local Presbyterian churches, that explains a lot.

CVT, the first organization of its kind in the United States, provides care on an outpatient basis for approximately 150 clients annually. It is not surprising in the least that Presbyterian Church USA has info on this group. The higher levels of the organization are extremely leftist, anti-Israeli, anti-capitalism.

Wasn't the new Congress sworn in?...Which would mean Edwards is gone?

Well, yes that's true. However there are many in the denomination who are very unhappy about the direction these people take. Some 40,000 members left the denomination last year I believe I read. Continual decline.

The First Panel, who will present Mr. Gonzales to the Committee, the Senate, and the nation consists of Senator Cornyn (Rep., Texas), and Senator Salazar (Dem., Colorado). Senator Cornyn is an obvious choice as he is a Republican, quite conservative, and from Mr. Gonzales' home state. On the other hand, Senator Salazar is a Democrat (who just was elected to the senate in November) and from Colorado. He also is the highest ranking Hispanic to be elected to office.
