So Janet Reno can order the cold blooded murder of American citizens but Gonzales can't order the torture of Al Qaeda prisoners? And, btw, the torture I've seen is that was approved is not anything that maims or kills an individual.

Not entirely correct Leaky. The US Attorney Gerneral works for the President - and at the pleasure of the President.

We know Leaky is not going to vote for Gonzalez...

Climbing out on my limb here, with chainsaw attacjed, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Bush has told Gonzales NOt to take any crap fromt he Dems..but to let them have it..quietly, firumly..NOT to let them try and like the administration to torture...BTW..did you read Byron York's column on NRO today..
