"there goes any leverage Senator Frist had"

Not so .. there are 55 repub Senators and Frist only needs 51 .. so McCain can go hang himself and keep his good standing with his liberal friends.

Like ex-military don't understand how power works. Which means he is intentionally weakening his party. If it is a play for a bone it should have been done behind closed doors.

You can be sure that when and if the Dems retake control of the Senate and the White House, they will instantly go to the "nuke option."

That's why all the RINOs were trying to keep up appearances before the new Congress was sworn in yesterday. Sorry, McCain, too late!

There'sMOR here than meets the eyeIt doesn't make sense he'd leak this..course, it could be disinformation..now, the MSM will swarm McCain..force him to confirm or deny...if he says he'd support the nuclear option..that may give the Dems pause..

Well .. with a little arm twisting .. like telling any repub senator who is running for re-election in 2006 - either get with the program or the RNC will not support your campaign.

It works for the dems! Time for hardball!!

McCain was just re-elected without a whimper of opposition.

I thought the nuclear option was merely having the senate prez invoke a point of order that a judicial filibuster is unconstitutional - and then whoever it is that is supposed to, agrees - and voila, not more judicial filibuster.

I don't think McCain can veto this.

McCain: "Dammit! My name hasn't been in the network news for at least 2 freepin days! What can I do to be their darling?
I know, I'll go against the leadership again...that always gets my name in lights."

McCain is worse than a RINO. He's a press-whoring RINO!

Remember this in 2007 (when he prepares for his running for President). I will.

Plus I remembering his Swift Vet comments and his forgiving of Kerry for his anti-war Vietnam statements.

Doesn't matter.

Frist won't do anything to upset the other side.
