Rohnert Park -- Police have identified a woman who was apparently wearing a live boa constrictor as a fashion accessory when she was killed in a single-car crash early New Year's Day.
Rohnert Park police Sgt. Art Sweeney said Margaret Ann Walters, 29, of Cotati, died when her Saab slammed broadside into a grove of redwood trees in the center divide of the Rohnert Park Expressway near Rancho Verde Mobile Home Park.
Sweeney said an open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle and toxicology tests to determine if Walters was intoxicated are pending. He said Walters was returning home from a New Year's Eve party when the accident occurred at 3:10 a.m.
Rohnert Park public safety Sgt. Wulff Reinhold, who responded to the crash, got a surprise when he reached through a broken window of the car to check for a pulse on Walters' neck, Sweeney said.
Reinhold noticed Walters' clothing "rustled" and discovered a 3-feet-long boa constrictor on her person.
Sweeney said an autopsy ruled out the possibility that the snake strangled Walters.

If she just watched "Alexander", maybe the family will sue Angelie Jolie and Oliver Stone.

Your fear is irrational. Vast majority of snakes are totally passive and wouldn't attack a human even if provoked.
For instance, take that 6 foot Reticulated Python right behind you.....

Looks like the car really slithered off the road. The scale of this is enormous.
I guess the snake's owner came to a fork in the road....made the wrong choice.
It's hard to drive when your vision becomes constricted.

Who hasn't spent at least one New Year's Eve driving around all blitzed at 3:00AM with a bottle of booze in their hand with a snake around their neck? Now that's a party I wish I'd have been at!
This is a real Darwin candidate. Who the H*ll would wrap a boa CONSTRICTOR around their neck?
The same type person who would drive home blitzed at 3am with a bottle of booze in their hand, I guess. Lets hope Darwin kicked in before she had kids.

Bad news for her: She's dead.
Good news for her: Now she's eligible for a Darwin award.

"This is a real Darwin candidate. Who the H*ll would wrap a boa CONSTRICTOR around their neck?"I have had my 8 foot red tail boa around my neck. He is fine as long as you do not go someplace cold. If they get cold, they will tighten to absorb heat, and thus choke you out.

Me too neither....I reached to within 6 inches of this balled up rattler 2 years ago while checking the status of my pepper plant; he blended quite well with the stone tree ring - if you don't see it, it's dead center in the pic...

And when you get tired of the thing, make boa jerky. It's very tasty (tastes like chicken).
