Rohnert Park -- Police have identified a woman who was apparently wearing a live boa constrictor as a fashion accessory when she was killed in a single-car crash early New Year's Day.
Rohnert Park police Sgt. Art Sweeney said Margaret Ann Walters, 29, of Cotati, died when her Saab slammed broadside into a grove of redwood trees in the center divide of the Rohnert Park Expressway near Rancho Verde Mobile Home Park.
Sweeney said an open container of alcohol was found in the vehicle and toxicology tests to determine if Walters was intoxicated are pending. He said Walters was returning home from a New Year's Eve party when the accident occurred at 3:10 a.m.
Rohnert Park public safety Sgt. Wulff Reinhold, who responded to the crash, got a surprise when he reached through a broken window of the car to check for a pulse on Walters' neck, Sweeney said.
Reinhold noticed Walters' clothing "rustled" and discovered a 3-feet-long boa constrictor on her person.
Sweeney said an autopsy ruled out the possibility that the snake strangled Walters.

III. Guns you couldn't give me and why I wouldn't like them. I'm not sure I could do a complete thread. There are some I wouldn't want though. Not many but some.

Red State reaction: "Stupid, drunken twit!"

I STRONGLY disagree. I've come upon no less than 4 WM and each behaved aggressively. I've probably come upon a few more that I didn't identify either because they were small or I didn't see them but heard something slither. Note I didn't step on or get within 2 feet of any of them. They are territorial, not defensive, at least in my experience.
I shoot WM's on site. Rattlesnakes too. I usually let copperheads and corals (only seen a couple of those) alone if they're sunning or out of the way.

This us odd? When my husband was younger he had a python named Eve. Once in a while his sister would wear the snake as a belt.

I'd have to go back through WWI but I could do it. Well, there are some I wouldn't shoot. Cheap crap, etc. But they have value as collectors items. So in my case I'd have to do a lot of thinkin' on that.
(Btw, some people I need to talk to just showed up here. We'll talk more about guns later. Gotta go. see ya)

I nearly stepped on a baby rattlesnake doing a very convincing impression of a stick, once. He hadn't molted hardly at all yet, so he just wiggled his tail back and forth very rapidly in complete silence. It was enough to get me to back off, though.

"I called wifey out to learn the rattling sound and then went to work."The last time I found a copperhead I just killed it with a hoe. Mr Grammy was in a meeting at the time, and relayed what I had done. The response from the other men there was "What a woman!"

My buddy and I gave a paperweight snake (kinda like the one below) to our Chaplain as a going away present. We attached a label that read: "Break only in case of emergency."
