The superintenent, Charlie Breiner, is once again like most admins, blowing a giant smokescreen.
1. This flag was in response to Prop 2 - the gay marriage amendment. (The Argus mentioned that in the first story they printed)
2. The administrators repeatedly blast those that oppose this as 'ignorant' either specificly, or through . We all know what the rainbow stands for, and again, the prop 2 reference confirms that.
3. These same people who are calling this a diversity flag, call the Confederate Flag a symbol of hate. If we take them at their work when they say that they really flew the rainbow flag as a "diversity flag" - what will be the reaction if someone of Southern Heritage wanted to fly a Confederate Flag?

In December 2003, the Howell school board passed a resolution from the Diversity Council stating that the school district supported diversity and tolerance in the school setting. Breiner said the essence of the resolution was not to advocate certain groups or lifestyles, but to advocate a safe learning environment for all students.Dontcha just love LeftistSpeak?

"We want to be as caring, and as even in that caring, with all students as we can be," Breiner said." Actually, THIS is bigger a load of BS. this overpaid bureaucrat is undoubtedly turning out ill educated students yet he has time and resources to spend on his pet social engineering projects - projects which fly in the face of parent's wishes and student's real needs. So much for his "Caring".
These people are out of control and are so only because of the apathy of the public in demanding adherence to the wishes of the large majority.

But oh intollerant they are towards those who object to such antics. In other words, they want tolerance from others but do not want to give tolerance to those who object to unacceptable behavior.

Homo Flag = controversial but ok to fly
Confederate Flag = controversial and NOT ok to fly. In fact, if you fly it, you may lose your job, be suspended from school, be sued, prosecuted, etc.
There is something seriously wrong with some people in this country.

Sure, they say tolerance, but what they mean is acceptance. Most Americans tolerate homosexuality, i.e. we don't imprison homos, keep them from getting jobs, etc. But most Americans don't accept homosexuality, i.e. we don't consider it to be a "lifestyle" we want to live, and there's nothing wrong with that. Most Americans don't accept Judaism, i.e. we don't think the Jewish faith is correct or right for us, but that's OK. In fact, our Constitution says it's OK to be unaccepting of other's beliefs. There are a lot of things we tolerate but don't accept--political beliefs, diets, music, fashion--the list is endless.

He should be blowing his giant smokescreen (that's not a euphemism, right?) on the unemployment line.
