Sounds like the Washington State Republican party reverted to type. What if anything, did the RNC contribute to this struggle (if such a one-sided event can be called that) Forgetting the lessons of Florida.

No sympathy.
Republicans run the Justice Department. If they can't send the FBI around to slam a few scumbag Democrat heads into cop-car doors as their cuffed carcasses are being shoved into the back seat, then they deserve to get robbed.

Now the local Democrats can publicly roll up their shirt sleeves and pretend get down to business.

Hope they don't break any well-manicured, Kerry-style fingernails while they pretend to open and read from their Bibles.

What will stop it is if the Republicans stop being such a bunch of wimps.

We can and should use the same tactics against the Dems.

Once the Dems can identify the actual number in a narrow race, they can create ballots to erase the margin of victory.

Repubs must step up to the plate and start throwing the hardballs back.

I get the feeling this has been going on for a long time. Only recently has this been getting any attention on the internet. Once enough people become aware of what's going on, there's a chance it'll get fixed.

Are you suggesting that the RNC should resort to election fraud, on the grounds of 'they did it, too!'?

I'm sure that would be overwhelmingly recognized as a valid legal defense in front of a state supreme court. /sarcasm

Don't jump to conclusions. The RNC has had massive support in WA state investigating the fraud in King County (Seattle).

We have until Jan. 22 to file a legal challange to the results. I have every confidence that will happen. We are pushing for a revote - King County has over 3000 more ballots than voters.

Democrat party recount strategy: keep recounting until you win. Then STOP.

Seems to be the strategy here. And it worked.

We'll see if anyone pays attention to the court battles once Gregoire is sworn in. Will the judges really hand down a decision to deprive her of office?

Rather than perpetuate a culture where the people in power seize the electoral apparatus to maintain power, I would prefer that the cheaters be thrown in jail. It was not possible when Dems controlled state governments (like Illinois, New Jersey and now Washington) and the federal law enforcement bureaucracies. Now it is, and the DOJ ought to realize that voting rights aren't only being violated in Mississippi in the 60s.

"Are you suggesting that the RNC should resort to election fraud, on the grounds of 'they did it, too!'?"

Precisely. Although "fraud" is rather a strong term. I'd use the term "ballot recuperation".

"I would prefer that the cheaters be thrown in jail. "

I have yet to read of a single election fraud case being even prosecuted, let alone convicted. But I have seen and read of NUMEROUS successful cases of voter fraud perpetrated by Democrats. It keeps them in power.

Sometimes one has to hold one's nose and resort to unsavory tactics to achieve a goal.

Marquis of Queensbury tactics in 1776 would have us still living in a monarchy.
