Sad news. I am a huge Will Eisner fan. A true Genius of Sequential art.
(Sequential art is a comicbook, I figured I would "class it up" for Will)

Will Eiser -- he drew the Spirit, right? Something about his art style I found very disturbing and intriguing (which, for me is a good thing). If I remember correctly, he did a lot of illustrations for the horror mags of the 60s and 70s: Creepy, Eerie, and the like.

RIP, Will, you will be missed.

Is he really? I'm not surprised, he seems to be real tight with Kevin "One Trick Pony" Smith of Clerks fame.

I'm too fond of Stan Lee to cast asperions on him but I have to say that your tagline is hilarious. And I'm a cat lover.

For his whole long life Will Eisner created great graphic literature -- his "Spirit" will live on for many many years.

This is sad. I met him several times over the years, the last time was in 1998(9?) in Columbus Ohio at the semi-regular comic art symposium at Ohio State University.

The last time I met him I brought him a World War II era military poster to sign.

He was always an interesting speaker to hear.

His work will live on as among the best in serial and single volume (graphic novel) forms.

Stan Lee is a stinking commie.

I challenge you to read even one story Lee wrote in the fifties or sixties and tell me that.

Stan took a lot of heat in the letters pages of the Sixties for his passionate anti-Communism.

Will Eisner drew the Spirit but also had a shop of artists who contributed to his work (including Jules Pfeiffer and Wally Wood).

His 60s work on was solo. The Spirit has seldom been out of print since original publication (starting in the 1960s with Harvey, the 70s with Kitchen Sink, Warren Magazines, 80s with Kitchen Sink again, and now with DC).
