Rossi Vs. Gregoire - King5 poll results
King5

Posted on 01/03/2005 11:25:13 PM PST by djf

Local Seattle television station King5 conducted a poll of statewide residents.

Should Republican Dino Rossi concede?

36 percent said yes, 53 percent said no.

In the poll conducted by SurveyUSA, the majority still believes Rossi actually won the election.

Six weeks ago, before the hand recount, we asked:

Who do you think won?

66 percent believed it was Rossi.

Now, after a hand recount showing Gregoire ahead, there's about a 10 percent swing in public opinion, but Rossi is still the perceived winner with 56 to 35 percent.

"Who knows who won. It's such a small margin. It could be either of them, couldn't it?" said another voter.

As for the Republicans pushing for a new election, we asked:

Should there be a re-vote?

59 percent of residents statewide say yes, let's vote again, compared to six weeks ago.

Our new poll finds more people not so sure if their vote was accurately counted.

The announcers were practically choking when they gave out the numbers. And of course they threw in the obligatory interviews with state Dem people and King county election counters who insisted everything was fair and on the up-and-up and there was never really any doubt that Gregoire would win.

I guess they could all file complaints with the attorney general and ask to have an investigation and revo...

Oops! Forget about getting any help from the Attorney general. Gregoire is the attorney general...

I saw Chris Vance on KOMO 11:00 PM News. He said that voter discrepencies have been also found in other counties. It seems as if there are too many votes cast for the count of registered voters. The Democrats are saying that the Republican report is exaggerated and vow to "correct" the matter. The call for a re-vote gets louder.

"The Democrats are saying that the Republican report is exaggerated and vow to "correct" the matter."

I'm sure that means people will disappear, even more "ballot correction" but I'm not sure how they are going to reconcile the dead voters. We've got Cook County disease in King County Washington. Maybe King County officials believe in Heaven now....and people in Heaven are voting for Gregoire.

I'm getting a real bad feeling about this. She will get sworn in, and claim some such "great mandate from the people", and the courts and legislature will be way to pussified to do anything.

I copied this from another related post. I gives more details about the voter discrepencies:

Washington State Republican Party leaders say they've found 8400 more ballots cast than the number of voters registered in the state's five largest counties. State GOP Chairman Chris Vance says the mismatching numbers in King, Pierce, Snohomish, Clark and Kitsap are troubling.

Republican Dino Rossi won the first two counts in the governor's race, then lost a hand recount to Democrat Christine Gregoire by a mere 129 votes. Republicans are mulling a possible legal challenge to the election, and Vance says discrepancies like the ones they found so far are clear indications that things went wrong. County auditors have said it typically takes a while for election results to be reconciled with voter registration records.

"She will get sworn in, and claim some such "great mandate from the people"

Of course she will, we've seen a preview of her tactics already. When she was behind by votes, she called the race a tie, but when she was in the lead by a mere 29 votes (before the "found" ballots were counted} she talked about the need to put the race behind and get started on HER governorship. She would claim a mandate if her lead was 1 vote. It's how democrats operate....it's their modus operandi...and the media people are willing accomplices and will print story after story about how the people have "spoken" and how Rossi is a "sore loser" and they will do their best to bury the story as quickly as they can.

Look for positive stories about Gregoire to start coming out in abundance. Then negative stories about Rossi to follow, most likely in the same section of newspaper, but a few pages behind the good stories about Gregoire. For even greater irony....they might throw in stories about voter fraud in Ohio being the reason President Bush won while not seeing or ignoring the comparisons.

Delay and inertia to sap the will of the people are weapons to the democrats. The GOP must keep up the pressure by filing legal actions, holding press conferences, making new discover announcements each day, etc. A long, slow "mulling" of the legal options will assure that Gregoire will be the Governor.

I see it like chasing a rabbit down the hole. The more information of fraud we find on the DemonRATs the deeper they get and the harder it will be for them to get out of it. Things have gone beyond their ability to overcome. They are about to be put in their cage.

I am waiting for John Carlson to get off of vacation. The blowtorch of KVI Radio will raise the farenheits and their goose will be cooked.

I think the only good that might come out of this is that her governorship will be totally tarnished and ineffective.

Right now we are giving the RATs just a glimpse of what we have on them and hoping they agree on a re-vote. If they were smart, they would call for a re-vote now. Otherwise, through court action we will expose their dirty laundry to the world. And, there is the possibility of criminal behavior which will also have serious consequences. They did not figure that we were watching their activities very closely. What used to slide under the radar has been caught on tape. The RATs never expected this outcome. They have been caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

Tarnished yes, ineffective no. She'll be effective at tossing lucrative contracts to her wealthy liberal supporters, as the groundwork has long been laid and the skids long been greased.

Meanwhile, I just saw on Seattle evening news on Channel seven, whatever network that is, that 75% of Washington voters think there should be a revote. A pretty compelling number.

And I say -- more power to her. Show the state what the dims are really all about. I'm not as upset about this as I could be -- I'd much rather see Rossi in the Senate than as Gubernator and I think all of this will give him a very strong ballot against Cantwell in 2006.

I don't even know that Rossi wants to run against Cantwell.

Besides, if we can't get rid of Murray, we're REALLY stuck with Cantwell, imo. After the idiotic things she said, Murray should have been shown the door on 11/2, but she beat Nethercutt handily. Unbelievable.

I don't think Rossi wants to be senator.

And the people of WA already know how the Dems operate. Which is why they elected Rossi governor this time. I'd like to see Can'twell and especially Murray kicked out, but Osama Mama just won by a large margin and Maria hasn't made any major gaffes that would jeopardize her reelection.

Doesn't have a prayer. Cant-do-well is too firmly entrenched. That's the thing about 'Rats. They cheat their way in, then bring home the bacon so the sheeple reward them with another term. Besides, Rossi has said he doesn't want a political career. I don't think he'd see a Senate seat (which would be a long shot at best) as anything other than a consolation prize. Playing for second place is not what winners do.
